I got a minature Collie from a friend and I told him that I would get a good home for it. I would keep her but I already have a dog. Some advise on how to get her a good home. She dose not come with papers.

There are breed specific rescue sites that may be able to help you locate a home for her. Try looking online for "Sheltie Rescue" in your city or state! Shelties are wonderful companions! I have always had this breed and love them! Right now I have a black and white female sheltie named Molly!

Try putting a notice at the vet's offices and around town too! Most newspapers will allow you to place free ads if you are giving away the pet. Be sure to talk w/ the prospective owners to make certain they will provide a safe, responsible and loving home. Good luck.

You can contact a Sheltie Rescue group in your area. Call the local SPCA for info They do a great job finding homes

Ask your vet to help you find a good home for it. They often have people asking them for a pet, and they can tell you if the people take good care of their pets or not. Or advertise in the paper and ask the callers for a vet reference. Do not advertise free to a good home. Bad people often get the free dogs to use in laboratories or dog fights.

You can try the rescue society for that breed of dog. Each breed of dog has a rescue society for that breed.
