In some states, it already is. And others are quickly following suite. I would suggest getting a headset now to avoid any future problems. Not being able to talk on the phone is not the whole issue. It's holding the phone with one hand while trying to drive and do who knows what else at the same time. You can very easily use a headset, speakerphone, or blue tooth. And if people keep running over pedestrians and bike riders, running into other cars, and running off the road because of text messages, it wouldn't surprise me if using a cell phone while driving at all becomes against the law before too long.

in my opinion,,i hope real soon ,,I'm getting tired of getting ran off the road by people talking on their phone ,,and not paying attention to their driving,,but as for now,,even where there are laws against it,,they dont inforce them,,so till then we just have to stay alert and watch out for them i guess,,this is a subject when brought up in a conversation,,sometime,s pisses people off,,but sooner or later,,there gonna have to put a stop to it.

I agree that it's frustrating to be cut off by someone looking down at his/her phone - happened to me this morning. However, there are safe ways of doing it.... we've all been on a long, grueling road trip where a speakerphone or Bluetooth was our only saving grace.

you are asking the wrong question , an intelligent person can drive and talk at the same time
should be asking when will they have physical driving tests that are enforced for everybody every year

Where I'm from that rule is already enforced? I guess it's just different parts of the United States that have that rule enforced.
