Currently stationed at NAS JAX. THe Navy does indeed call it the N.E.X for all your hard goods. Almost like a self contained mall. The commissary is for all your food items, and apparently plants.

I don't know if they are the same on a Navy Base, but on an Air Force Base it is Tickets & Tours at the Outdoor Rec Center. Part of NAF (Non-Appropriated Funds)
You can get airline tickets at a discount, along with tickets for amusements parks, tours etc.
You can always call your NAF office (Part of Services) and ask.

Ya referring to NEX? (naval exchange service) It's their version of the Army PX (post exchange) These are basically mini-malls. Or there's the commissary.(grocery store) I dunno, the swabbies may have a different name for it. Or MWR centers (morale welfare recreation) Sometimes off post, mwr ctrs are where you'll find ball fields, sport gear, hobby facilities.
