I'm having problems with her. I got her last summer a friend of mine gave her to me. She's 3 years old, very tame but the only problem I have with her is that when ever she poops, and if I dont clean it right away, she eat's it. Is there something wrong with her. I've change her food, went to check if she had something wrong, Doc said she's healthy?

Its not just a shih-tzu thing, it happens in a lot of breeds. Some dogs just do it haha. It happens more than you think. In fact we had dog that came in the other day with a punctured small intestine because the dog would poop in the gravel, then turn around and eat it with the gravel stuck in it. Theres nothing you can do it about it that ive ever heard of or seen the doctors try. Just keep an eye on her, its all you can do. Anyways hope that helps, and good luck.

This is a good breed. I have 5 & 3 of them do eat poop. I have tried all the stuff the vet has prescribed & they still do it. The best thing to do is when you feed them, scoop it up. They usually poop soon after they eat. And yes, your dog is fine.

I know a lot of dogs eat cat poop. (not heard of eating their own) If you want her to stop, get some books on dog training or take her to a dog training class. I think PetsMart offers them.

My mom has one of those dogs and it does the samething disgrace. But the vet always says she alright. Never finds anything wrong with her either.
