My husband has to take pills at 3 separate intervals a day. On an empty stomach when he wakes up, an hour later after that pill is ingested and these must be taken with food, and then finally before he goes to bed. We have 3 separate weekly pill dispensers. One for each interval. Underneath each weekly pill dispenser is an index card describing what should be in every dose. We also have a word document with all of the pills and intervals printed out for when he has to explain his medications during doctor appointments etc. Best of luck to you.

There's quite a few different ways. You could spend a little money and get an automated medicine dispenser. Line up the meds in the sections in order you take them (such as 6 am, 12 pm, 6 pm) and set the alarms on the dispenser - it will alarm to tell you to take them and some even drop the meds into a little cup for you. If you're just looking at a way to keep track and check off what you take - if you or someone you know has Excel or Word (programs in Microsoft Office), set up a spreadsheet or table with the times down the left side of the page and the medicines across the top. Put an X in the box beside the meds under the correct time columns - then you can cross them off as you take them. Hope this helps!

I would make a daily time schedule on your computer and then print it out. Put the hours down the left hand side of the page and the days of the week across the top. Then fill in the blanks with the names of the medications you need to take. (ie if you have one that you take 4 x a day then put the name of it in the space along side the time of day that you need to take it. Once you have filled in each medication for each day then just post it on your fridge. You can also get a pill remiinder, it's like an alarm clock and you can set it for each time you need to take your medication.

Good Luck

I set up my medications box every week- well, about that. I only have 6 sections as I lost one somehow. Anyway, I'm very compulsive about checking my med. box. If it's there, I haven't taken it, yet. If not, then I must have. I'd never be able to keep track otherwise.

If you need someone to help you, maybe there's a nurse at your doctor's office that can help you or a family member can be taught.

My mother writes down when she takes hers- but sometimes she forgets. I'd never remember if I just forgot to write it, or forgot to take it. So, I wouldn't recommend that.

The "large pill box" suggeston above is probably the best. If you have trouble finding that kind of box, you can simply use a 18-egg crate box to do the job for you. Simply mark the box with a black marker where you want to do the job. It worked for my mom for several years and kept me from having to continually remind her of when to take her medicine. Really neat!

You can get a large pill box that has separate containers for each day of the week. Each day has openings for the time of day (morning, afternoon, evening, night). You can put your pills in the box once/week and then you will have them organized for the whole week. I gave this to my dad & it works great. You should be able to find them at any drugstore.

Buy one of those weekly pill holders where you can sort your meds between morning, noon, evening, night. Then you can tell by looking at your pill holder to see if you have forgotten to take them or not. Hope this helps!

When I was taking my meds 4 times a day I took them at each meal then at bedtime. Now I take them three times a day and I take them as soon as I get up at dinner and at bedtime. When I was taking meds twice a day take them as soon as you get up and at dinner.
