I would try reading books, joining a group with the same problem, or therapy. I would try the books first and making some friends, that would be a real good way to start. I don't think I would try hypnosis on something like self esteem though.

I went to hypnosis for weight loss and it helped as long as I could go to sessions. They gave us tapes and they helped, but not as much.

It depends on the therapist and how much you want it to work.
