The War in Iraq?

I am aganist the war in Iraq, i think it is wrong, and even though it has done some good by deposing Saddam,It really hasn't made life better in Iraq, because more and more people are dying, and that isn't right.

yes u r right ,it made it worse.they went thier to achive democracy and freedom to iraqi people but all they got from them is sexualy abuse and killing and destroying thier life. i hope this war will end soon so they can live in peace..they deserve a better life cause they used to live so bad and now it is worse. alot women commiting souicide cause american soliers had raped them, do it guys think it is fair?

When saddam was in power the Iraqi people were living in constant fear of Saddam's regime and his hitmen. The military defeated Iraq's Army in no time but it is the civilian rebels that are causing the trouble. The military vastly underestimated the insurgency's size and power. There are a few reasons why the war has been fought for so long...One is because the enemy is not wearing any uniforms or any to distinguish themselves from the friendly population. For our soldiers it is like looking at herd of cows and trying to figure out which ones have just been milked by just looking. For the terrorists it's like looking at a herd of cows and picking out the horses. The war in Iraq was over in a fews month after the fall of thier military, but now we are in what is called occupation and supressing rebel outbreaks. Does anyone remember something that happened in 1991?...something called the Gulf War? Do you relize that the guy that America was fighting back then to stop him from taking control of other countries is the same guy who's supporters we are fighting now? We are protecting innocent countries in the area from Iraq, countries that have nuclear capabilities i.e. Iran and India. You can't blame the military for things not turning out as PREDICTED, not promised. War is unpredictable and has many variables that can't be forseen before combat. A military power a mighty as the United States Military who has defeated nearly every enemy that has opposed us, we have to eventually come in contact with an enemy that we can't. Personally I think the probmlem is that we came on to fast, too strong, and too confident. And that is how it was displayed in the media. The people saw how easy it was when the war started that when things got slower and more difficult they start to complain about it. I think that it is not a coinicedence that he war in Iraq and the Vietnam conflict are the most contrversal wars in America's history and also the most publicised. In all the other wars America fought the people hear we are fighting and losing, so they help America win i.e. enlisting, sending money, military equipment, building, etc. Now with Iraq and Vietnam the people see what sacrifices are really made in war instead of just hearing about and they are apalled, hence they oppose it. War is not pretty and glamorous, it is hard, gritty, violent and ungly.

I agree. Saddam being gone is better for the world than him still being there, but way too many Americans have died.

We went in under false pretenses, chased something that was not there (nukes & other weapons), and even though some good came from it, that doesn't make it right.

Besides, I'd rather have Saddam in power & 2,500+ American soldiers working at their normal jobs and being with their families than having Saddam gone, Iraq in turmoil, and those 2,500+ soldier in the ground.

i agree with sasa.. i think the only think we can do (as cilivians not directly involved in the war) is to educate people.. read some of the questions and answers regarding the iraq war and you'll agree with me.....

it sickens me to know that alot of americans dont think its their fault that cilivians are dying. and innocent people are suffering.. im not saying its all their fault, but all they care abt is american soldiers' lives..

we have to educate these people and let them know that
iraqis and not inferior to americans.. we are all humans.

the death of americans in the war, 9/11 doesnt justify the killing and suffering of innocent people.

its STUPID and SHALLOW to think all middle easterns are terrorists

and stop thinking everything you read in american papers and watched in american channels abt the war is accurate.
