some evil people like to make themselves feel better by violating the very rules and principles they claim to adhere to and behave in a very antichristian manner, I also have had bad experiences and hatemails from some of the christian answerers here on yahoo, some, non believers, who have also been harrassed, actually think religion should be considered a psychological disorder

I am a Pastor and a lifelong Christian.
A TRUE Christian does not condemn and call people horrible names. That is wrong. Also if you want a person to listen to you, yelling at them doesn't work. If person does condemn and call people horrible names, then they are not following in the footsteps of Christ. Christ did not need to condemn people (the people already have a judge, God himself) but he did point out their misdoings and taught them how to best honor God. He loved everyone so much, that he gave himself up, of his own free will, so all in the world can be saved.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. He who believes in him is not condemned; he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does what is true comes to the light, that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been wrought in God.” - John 3:16-21
Many Christians are civil and treat people with dignity and respect. But, like all human beings there are others out there that are misguided and others claim to be Christians but do not follow the teachings of Christ. The mission of a Christian to save people. Save people from evil and their sins by bringing people to Christ.
Although it may appear on the outside that Christianity is an exclusive religion, It's not. It's true that many Christians are tough when it come to matters of the faith, but Christianity is actually the most inclusive religion on earth. Anyone anywhere in the world can join. Other religions require you to do certain task or be a certain kind of person before joining. All a person has to do to become a Christian is to just believe.

I think you're right- nobody is ever convinced of anything because of harsh words. If you don't speak the truth in love, it's for certain no one will listen. That principle is repeated over and over again in the Bible, so there's really no excuse of not knowing any better. But I would say that the more important a question is, the easier it is to lose one's temper over the answer. Most human beings are like that, because it's hard to let go and trust God completely for the outcome of things. It's a fault, but since Christians are after all people, we still have quite a few of those. Try to forgive the harsh ones, and see them through the eyes of God who loves us all. Blessings be upon you!

Because most of them actually believe with all their hearts that, all those (the other 70 percent of the planet) that don't share in their beliefs are going to be eternally damned to the pits of hell. The concern is touching but, I have made peace with my Creator but these folks cant comprehend that others with different beliefs have the same sort of peace and contentment that they have, they believe that any peace or contentment that non Christians have is a product of some sort of deception by Satan, as is scientific evidence to the contrary of Christian beliefs. I nowadays group all religous zealots together and point to them as the cause for much of this world's grief. There is nothing wrong with believing in a religion, but there is something wrong with looking at someone differently because they have different religous beliefs.

I am a very proud Christian. That being said, I feel I must voice God's message about His Son Jesus. I try very hard not to hate anyone and brow beat them. I am human just like you and everyone else but there are some, a few, just like the few that give Islam a bad name, who give Christians a bad name. You can't judge all Christians by the acts of a few any more than you can judge all Muslims by a rotten few.

Not all christians are the same. Some of us are very respectful towards other faiths and seek cousel from the wisdom of other religions.
That being said, a lot of evangelical christians believe that it is their duty to spread the gospel to all people at almost all times. It is their number one duty to save you from the tormets of eternal hell/seven years of tribulation. They believe, wholeheartedly, that it may upset many people if they are "in your face" but when faced with the fact that everyone who doesn't believe what they do is fated to be cast into the lake of fire, a necessary evil. Every conversion is the salvation of that person and every failure of conversion may condemn that individual to eternal damnation. That's what they believe the stakes are, even if there isn't as much scriptural justification for the rapture or hell as one might think.

When I was on a spiritual journey, I witnessed many preachers directing their congregation to "spread the word by any means necessary." This meant blocking people in with cars, pushing your way into their homes or calling them consistently. I was not a part of that church and never went back, but this attitude was not only preached, but demanded and the people there followed it blindly. In short, I think they honestly think they are doing a good thing. However, I have yet to meet a Christian who could tolerate being treated the same way they think it's okay to treat other people.

The question should be "why people always blame the religion?" hostility,,jealousy, judgemental etc etc... It all comes for an individual itself. People read and understand the bible or the holy book and take it into their own perpective which create different attitude on each and everyone of us.There's no religion wants their people become hostile or jealous or judgemental...its the person itself. So why does the world judge religions so much over an individual behaviour ?

Christians don't condemn anyone. One who rejects God is already condemned to death. Let's say you found a way to live 400 years and stay young, healthy and happy all of those 400 years. Would you just keep that information to yourself? Or, would you try to convince others to choose to live longer, rather than die sooner? Are you that cold hearted that you would not tell anyone? Christians have information that gives life to other people. Why would you prevent others finding out? Do you love death?

Not all Christians are gracious about what they believe. Not all have good role models or mentors, or have been discipled by a mature Christian. There are stages of growth in the Christian life just like there are in growing up from childhood to adulthood. It may be the teenage stage that is so aggressive.

The reason we may come across as pushy is because the Bible states that apart from the forgiveness of Jesus we already stand condemned and that ends in death(spiritually and phisically) Rom 3:23- for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. We know that Jesus came to save us from this death that we may live with him forever in heaven. t is not a matter of whether we die, but where we will spend eternity after life on earth. Hell or heaven.
