i think you should wear hijab when YOU think you're ready to. (i'm assuming your parents aren't forcing you since you're asking this question.) just remember, start wearing hijab when you think you'll appreciate the real beauty of it. when you're mature enough to understand why it's there.

I'm not Muslim, but I believe that she should start to wear it when she feels ready to make the committment.
I have taught Muslim girls in year 7 who wear it and taught with Muslim teachers who do not. It is a personal thing

That depends if she spits or swallows. In the former case it is advisable to wear the scarf after ur done so as not to mess up the scarf and in the latter you can have it on at all times like good muslim women do.
