Any one out there care to prove that the Bible does not teach the keeping of the seventh-day sabbath?

The Catholics have a $1,000 reward for anyone who can. It was posted in the 1890's, and no one has been able to colect it yet.

It depends which day; you call the seventh day Sabbath. Catholics admit the Sabbath is Saturday (evidence enclosed).

The Sabbath is from Friday Evening to Saturday Evening; Jews still keep it as some christians. No work is to be done this day.
Jesus himself told us to keep this day (John 4:22-24).
"Ye worship ye know not what; we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews." John 4:22
Notice Jesus was saying that we should worship Saturday like the Jews.

The Calendar also tells us the 7th day is Saturday.

If you look up Genesis 1:8; it tells us that the evening and morning were the second day. Lev.23:32 says from evening to evening to celebrate the Sabbath.

Before the Passover; you have to get the leaven out of your dwelling.
Passover of 2007 is the evening of April 1. What you do is prepare--do blessing of passover--drink wine in a small glass followed by unleavened bread; you also do footwashing; this is all done in your house with believers of family or church members--Also you say sorry for your sins before you partake of the Lord's Supper. 1Cor.11:20-28.

Unleavened Bread--First and last day is Holy, so no work; you do worship that day!
No bread, dust, dirt or corn anywhere til Unleavened Bread has past.

Pentecost--receive God's Spirit. It is a holy day; you do worship that day.

Feast of Trumpets--Worship and Holy Day.

Day of Atonement(Yom Kippur)--a day for fasting and repentance; abstain completely from food and drink; keep holy, do worship--Lev.23:7-8.

Feast of Tabernacles--the first day & 8th day is holy; do worship
Usually you can go to a Motel, seperate dwelling place or tent you can live in during this period. My family do the tent during the feast.

Actually, this challenge has been repeated several times. Currently a much larger reward is being offered by a seventh day adventist pastor. Have a look at this article:

The Old Testament clearly calls for rest from activities of business and commerce on Saturday; however the New Testament does not make such clear statements about Sunday worship.

We do know that before or soon after Jesus Resurrection, the early followers of the Way (they weren't called Christians yet) began gathering on Sunday for a meal, worship and fellowship. After the Resurrection, this day was called the Lord's Day, and there are several mention's of the Lord's Day in the New Testament in which believers gathered for a meal and worship. This day was never called the Sabbath, and everyone recognized that it was a completely different thing from the seventh day Sabbath.

In fact, for the first few hundred years, many Christians kept both Sabbath and Sunday side by side, partly because while they had moved on to a new religion and style of worship, they still liked the tradition of Sabbath and still had friends and family who had not converted to Christiantiy that they wanted to stay connected to.

Later Constantine converts to Christianity and makes the first Sunday closure law --he does not really "change" Sabbath to Sunday as some claim, but actually just makes it illegal for business to be conducted on Sunday.

Throughout history there have been non-Jewish groups who have kept a seventh day Sabbath. The Puritans were among those responsible for creating the idea of sabbatarianism, which is the application of the idea of a day of rest being applied to Sunday, which traditionally was thought of as primarily a day of worship and not necessarily a rest day.

The keeping of the Sabbath was a covenant between the Lord and the Children of Israel only. The law was never given to the Gentiles. There is no mention of the Gentiles to keep the Sabbath in the new Testament. A study of the old Testament will show this.

No one can, because Jesus observed it, the disciples observed it, the early church observed, it before it turned to paganism and we are going to observe it in heaven.

The Catholics are not the only ones that have a reward like this yet no one ever comes forward.

Jesus worked on the Sabbath. Remember he said the Sabbath was made for us not the other way around. We don't have to adhere to this. That's what grace is all about.

if your jewish keep the jewish sabbath observance. im not jewish, i cant act jewish and be saved by my works....they couldnt either, that's why Jesus came. if you want to keep one jewish law, keep all 600 and so or you will fall under the 'curse of the law' which means you arent made righteous by works, and you live under the Old Covenent good luck
