I've tried Pet Dust (fleas are back the following day)

I've tried sprays (seem to work, but never last the full 7 days as stated on bottle)

Strong flea dips (This work pretty well for me)

Capstar (Excellent, buy from my vet but expensive)

What do you use?

Usually what i recommend to people is revolution. It kills the fleas and prevents heartworms, both in just a couple of drops between the shoulder blades once a month. If your dog has fleas right now, youll probably want to grab a capstar from your vet, but that only kills the ones on the dog at the time, and it doesnt touch the fleas that in the pupae stage (nothing out there kills them in this stage), but if you apply the revolution after you use the capstar, those pupae should be maturing into adult fleas, and the revolution you just put on will kill them. That should take care of your flea problem. Not to mention that buying the revolution is cheaper than using both heartgaurd and say frontline or advantage. Hope this helps, and good luck. Btw 6 months of revolution at my clinic runs about 70-80 dollars, but you get a free dose also, not to mention the money youll be saving on cheap remedies that dont work and also on paramite dips.

frontline plus is the best, it will last at least a month depending on how bad the flea problem is. maybe a little less if they are out of control, but you can put it on every three weeks if thats the case, and its water proof. all that other stuff your useing has no residual effect, meaning doesnt last. sprays dont last, dips are not very healthy and can be toxic, and capstar is expensive and is only good for 24-48 hr. some vets dont even sell it and only use it for when animals come into the practice if they are loaded, to keep from infesting their place, not good to give your dog on a regular basis. frontline is what i use, and have not found a better product yet.

This is also kind-of pricey, but I was told to use Advantage (buy from vet). I have tried it all flea shampoos, sprays, frontline, collars, they don't work like they say they do. I have a friend who has cats (2) inside. She says the fleas got so bad nothing would help. So she flea bombed her house two times (they were that bad). Then she started using Advantage. Has not had a problem since! she was using frontline before. I am going to give it a try, maybe you should too.
Hope I helped. Fleas....nasty little things that won't go away! I know, I have 5 dogs, only 2 inside!

Frontline and Advantage are sold by vets and do work. I use Bio Spot. It is otc and less expensive. I've used it for over 10 years now, no fleas, no ticks, and protects from mosquitoes. I've used it on all my dogs and all my rescues. Never had a problem. As with anything else, any dog can be allergic to any product.

I've had vets tell me that Bio Spot is doesn't work, or is crap. One of those vets took a flea comb to my dog and couldn't find a single flea!

Frontline or Advantage. Powders, sprays and dips are harmful to your dog and collars don't work at all. If your dog is left outside nothing will keep them away for long. If your dog lives indoors don't forget about the dogs bed and any furniture the dog gets on. Adult female fleas lay an egg an hour for it's entire adult life. The dog is dropping eggs every where it goes. Then the eggs hatch and reinfect the dog.

The Flea collar has worked 100% of the time for both cats and dogs. Of course, you want to bath or dip the animal first. Flea collars last for about 90 days. Simply purchase another one.

My dog works on a golf course chancing geese away and he runs through a lot of woods and gets a lot of fleas and ticks so every month we take him to get a flea dip and i give him a quick bath with dog shampoo every other week. This seems to work.
