no way, no chance-people are pretty stupid sometimes, but not that stupid. I recall philosophy class in college where love for humanity ranked above self love, so, we got that going for us.

Global warming won't end the earth, but could end the people on the earth. I don't think that will happen. I do believe in global warming and I kind of encourage it. Not because I want everyone to die, but because we need a kick in the butt to get off this planet and move out into the solar system. That way if something like a nuclear war, or an asteroid hits earth the human race will survive. If you predict the end of the world her is an important safety tip. Do not pick a date! If the date comes, and it will, and the world doesn't end, and it won't, you look like an idiot.

It very well could be very close to DEC 25Th 2012.
Nobody knows the hour or day. true.
Jesus DOES command us to know it's very close.

The Bible Codes and number crunch is really neat. But it can NOT pin point the year. nobody knows if Jesus' was born on a leap year.

It could happen 2007. or 2012. Thing is: to be ready, if it's tomorrow.
I've heard some people say: All prophecy has not been fulfilled. This is true. But , keep in mind, it doesn't have to be. Jesus can fulfill prophecy DURING the Tribulation.

BTW: NO. The world will NOT come to a END.

This is a world without end. The New Earth, New Spiritual Jerusalem will be created. The Spiritual Jews will go to heaven forever.

GRRRRRRRRRRRReat. :)

This is certainly a sticky issue, with implications from religion and spirituality, to politics, economics, and of course science. First, however, your question needs a bit of unpacking.

There are several ways of interpreting the notion of Earth coming to an "end." Very few of them will actually entail the destruction of the planet itself. Given a large and dense enough body striking the planet, it would theoretically be possible to knock the Earth from its orbit and send it into the Sun, into Jupiter, or just careening off into space. Likewise, it is again *possible* that some sort of anomaly in space--such as a wormhole or black hole or something even stranger--were to physically destroy or otherwise cause our planet to cease to exist. These scenarios, while possible, are highly improbable.

If, on the other hand, we are interpreting "end" to mean the end of civilization or perhaps even all life on our planet, then the possibilities--and probabilities--are far greater.

Global thermonuclear war is unlikely in a post-Cold War world, however we simply cannot predict how society will turn except for the near future. Society does not change overnight, and this provides us with at least a buffer of time to give some direction to where we are headed. In other words, wars are generally always avoidable in some way.

Global warming, on the other hand, is a very real phenomenon, which no serious scientist will deny. The question at this point lies in believing the warming trend is due entirely or mostly to human factors, or whether it is part of the natural cycle of Earth, and we simply happen to exist at a turning point. So, if it is part of the natural cycle, such as the flip-flopping of the magnetic north and magnetic south poles (which is believed to have occurred many times throughout Earth's history), there are no preventative measures we can take with our current technology. If, on the other hand, it is due to human activity, there still may be nothing we can really do to stop it. We're simply not sure at this time where the "point of no return," if one exists, actually lies. Regardless of what one believes, however, it should be a generally accepted notion that it is better to help the environment than to injure it, because we must live here.

Problems always arise when one tries to predict something that we have no precedent for. Global warming is one of them, so the time-table for what we may expect next is difficult to determine. It very well may escalate exponentially in a matter of only a few years, or it may take thousands (certainly not hundreds of millions...Earth will undergo severe climate changes many times in that time period, if our past is any indicator). The point is, we simply don't know.

A final possibility is that of an asteroid or comet striking the Earth. This is a definite possibility and rather likely to happen within at least the next few thousand years. Again, predictions are impossible until we actually detect one that is on a clear collision course with us. We've had a few close calls in the past decade, with one even passing between us and the moon (only a few hundred thousand miles away...rather like a fly or bee that inadvertently flies too close to your ear, you hear the buzz and instinctively flinch). With all of these, we've had very little warning beforehand. There are efforts to catalog what have been termed "Near-Earth Objects" (NEOs), but they are slowgoing.

No matter what may happen, it is highly unlikely that all life will cease to exist. Mammals were able to survive the great asteroid impact 65 million years ago, and there is little question that with our present levels of technology, we could learn to survive and adapt, at least for a time, to another great impact event or the effects of global warming. Either way, however, countless millions of people will likely die, and the surface of the Earth will change drastically.

I think we're in the last days, but I wouldn't try to put a date to anything. But if anyone here is interested in Biblical escatology, try reading the book of Ezekiel, chapter 38.

According to Ezekiel, there will be a war in which Russia will support Iran and an Arab coalition against Israel. I think this could happen very soon, because I believe that Israel will bomb Iran's nuclear plants(what Ezekiel calls the hook in the jaw). When that happens, a Russian led invasion force will attack Israel, and no country will help Israel. I believe on the eve of this invasion, all the Christians are going to be raptured, so America and our allies will be in no shape to help Israel. The Bible says that God will supernaturally protect Israel, and 83% of the invading forces will be destroyed.

The Bible says about the invading armies, that their skin will melt off their bodies, and their eyes will melt out of their sockets, before their skeletons hit the ground. To me, it sounds like nuclear warfare. The Bible goes on to say that it will take seven months to bury the bodies, and then only specially trained and equiped people can do this.

All the weapons will be gathered up, and they will be burned for fuel for the next seven years(strange number, 7 years). What kind of weapons can be burned for fuel for seven years, except maybe nuclear material?

With the rapture of all the Christians which would have devasted large parts of the world, together with the millions of soldiers who were killed in a nuclear war, the stage is set for the Anti-Christ to take over. This is when the tribulation will start. Seven years after that, Jesus Christ will return.

So that's my answer. Watch the news and try to figure when Israel will bomb Iran, add seven years, and that's when the world wil end.

Interesting. You have heard of the Mayan calender that ends sometime around Dec. 2012. I think the Mayans had to stop the calendar some where.

What difference does it make? If it ends tomorrow, 2012 or a million years from now, there's not much any of us can do about it.

The end...

God will come back when you least expect it. the more people keep saying oh, he's gonna come back tomorrow, the longer he'll wait. But I do think the time is coming soon because of all the 'symptoms' of the world it is just the same as in the bible.

No one knows, But I think it will be soon. God said he would come like "a theif in the night" in revelations, then their will be seven years of death and destruction, then the earth will die. So, I'm just glad I wont be thier for those seven years.
