Most books focus on photography in general, but not specifically on taking headshots.

You are actually more correct than you think. All books focus on a specific type of photography (sports, fine art, black & white, portraiture, etc) but none will focus on just head shots. Who would create a book that's only 5 pages long and every professional photographer already knows.

Learn lighting and portraiture and you'll learn your headshots. The books below will help you out quite a bit.
