I have mild-moderate psoriasis. I get tiny little patches on my face, arms, and legs. I have moderate psoriasis of the scalp. My dermatologist gave me a medicated shampoo and a topical corticosteroid lotion that is very effective. However, corticosteroids should NOT be used on the face as they can either cause acne or make current acne worse. For my face, I just get some sun and that does the trick to clear it up.
EDIT: I don't know if processed sugar affects psoriasis. Psoriasis occurs when your immune system doesn't function the way it should. Macrophages attack your skin. According to PsoriasisConnections.com, "...Once your immune system is triggered, it sends a false alarm to your skin cells, telling them that they’ve been damaged. The skin cells react by attempting to repair this “damage.” They begin reproducing at an accelerated rate (the process that takes roughly 26 days in normal skin now occurs in about 5), rising to the skin surface, dying, and building up there. The skin surface thickens. As blood vessels expand and more blood flows to the skin, it becomes red. The result is the flaky, red patches you know as plaques."
I don't know how mild or severe your psoriasis is. Try talking to your family doctor, or get a referral to a dermatologist. Good luck.

Cure psoriasis starting today - even if your doctor or dermatologist says "it's impossible!"
I've just followed a guide called psoriasis free for life that completely cured me of this debilitating and embarrassing disease in less than a month!
Remember, this will not only treat the symptoms that you do see:
the red, inflamed itchy skin.
The silvery scales that seem to erupt for no reason.
The burning or bleeding that occurs around your joints.
The cracking, oozing and painful patches on your skin.
But it also treats the underlying cause of psoriasis - the part you don't see - the actual immune system deficiency that causes these itchy patches to appear and scale over.
For more information, check here : http://Psoriasis.naturallysaver.com .
You can definitely get back your life, your confidence and your self esteem!

Depends on your age and the severity of the psoriasis. There are many medications and some new injections. There is also light treatments called UVB .
See a dermatologist for the treatment best for you.

Mary Kay sells a product called Extra Emollient Night Cream. I was using the cream my doctor prescribed (20 bucks a tube) and after an hour, my psoriasis was dry and catching on my sweaters. My mom suggested the MK cream, and I havn't used anything else since. My elbow is soft and moisturized from the time I put it on in the morning, til I put it on at night. I was worried about the lack of medicine, but my elbow has gotten so good that sometimes the area is barely red and noticable. One tube lasts 6 months for me, and costs about 12 bucks, and it is not scented or anything. I don't know if this is gross or not, but I can scratch my elbow now without it bleeding, it is so moisturized. Try it, and good luck.

As a psoriasis sufferer myself I have found through research that some peoples skin disease is not as bad as others. Like my own. One remedy in this case is to get enough sunshine. The sun dries it up. Although be careful not to get sun burned. Not that this will worsen the condition; you just don't want to get melanoma as well.
