Show real interest in a dog. You have to convince them that YOU will be responsible for the dog and they will not have to be. Tell them that you will even go for a free puppy so they don't have to buy you one! Just remember that dogs (puppies) are a lot of work. They require a lot of attention. After giving this some thought, if you are still interested, try what I said.
Good Luck!

If you are still living with your parents, then they have every right to refuse you to have your own puppy. When you get your own place and can be responsible to take care of it on your own, then fine. But for now, wait till you move out

Show them you are responsible enough to take care of one. Puppies are like having your very own child, if not worse. Don't forget that a child wears a diaper, puppies do not!

I gave them a presentation about me getting a puppy. Three weeks later, (Christmas day) when I woke up, a puppy was right next to me sleeping!

give them puppy eyes and promise you'll take care of it and it wont destroy any thing if they don't buy it just say PLEASE and if that doesn't work ask them to give it a trial run after that they usually cant say no. If all of that doesn't work write on a computer file all work and no play makes (insert name here) a dull girl type that to a full page and then print it out and tape it all around the house. that will get your puppy.

are you going to be there for your puppy? potty train, walk, & run him/her twice a day, water, & food, batheing him/her if so you need to point this out to your parents but it does not always work out that way my kids told me they would do these things but i was the one i found another home for the dog that would love him & spoil him & guess what he had a family & he is very happy in his new home.
