I'm just tired of anyone who badmouths Islam without reallly understanding what it is. I am not Muslim, but my family is Indonesian Muslim, and last I checked they weren't suicide bombing anyone. Islam is just like any other religion, with their own set of fundamentalists that would use their religion as an excuse to enforce hate. And people tend to forget that Christianity has its own bloody past. (The Spanish Inquisition for example.) Both the Bible and the Koran have their passages filled with violence and hate, and their passages filled with love and acceptance. It has always been up to the reader to interpret their ambiguousness.

I don't agree that the Bible isn't filled with statements of hate, especially the Old Testament. I've read some of these passages in a class, and it's one of those obscure things that people gloss over, and some people do use to justify their hate. My point is that religious denomination does not define the individual. And that Christians speaking on their high horse about "all Muslims are terrorists" tend to forget that their own religioun is bathed in blood. And if I'm not justified in assuming that any Christian will tie anyone to a pole, accuse them of witchcraft, and burn them at the stake, then the same shouldn't be assumed for Muslims based solely on religous denomination.
Oh and that comment about the Spanish Inquisition is inaccurate, at least as far as the mainstream interpretation of history goes.

I've read the Koran, and it says that muslims need to kill all infidels: Christians and Jews. That's a little scary, especially since I'm a Christian. The Bible has no hate, maybe some violence, but that is because it tells true stories about people and their sin nature.

I am not Muslim, but I totally agree with you. Most of the people that badmouth it don't even know what it is all about. But for me I am just not tired of hearing badmouthing about Islam, I am tired of hearing badmouthing about any religion. If someone were to actually educated themselves on other religions, than they wouldnt be so mean and have a better understanding why people say the things they do.

Me! WHY won't people learn about something before they decide to badmouth it? How can they even pretend to make a fair judgement when they won't even go to the trouble of researching the topic? I can understand people who are ignorant but ask questions so that they can learn. People who don't want to learn, however, who refuse to read the Bible or Qur'an or the Communist Manifesto because they don't want to "pollute their minds with that rubbish" are being willfully ignorant. And willfull ignorance is really just another form of prejudice. They could learn about Islam and still disagree with it, and then their arguments would at least be more effective, but they don't even want to do that. It's both frustrating and discouraging.

The Spanish Inquisition was actually conducted by Jews who "falsely" converted to Christianity for the purpose of perverting the "Faith" and committing acts of Jewish Ritual Murder. But you're correct in stating that Islam is just like any other "major" religion. It's peopled by frothing lunatics who worship a God they don't know. Just like Christianity and Judaism.

It takes a lifetime to fight against ignorance... and then, with every new generation everything has to be taught anew. Or almost.
Our rulers like it when we hate each other. And I am not talking about our leaders. We have no leaders. Leaders would lead, and teach, and make the world a better place. We have rulers, and rulers rule, and they keep the different nations of the world ignorant one about the other. It's a simplified view, yes, yes.

finally, regardless of part of the fence you're on, it comes all the way down to faith. Christians have faith by potential of religion. Atheists finally have faith by potential of religion. it rather is all finally faith. after all, to have faith purely by potential of evidence on my own, is finally a susceptible and precarious stance. Your theory will constantly be ruled by potential of conjecture and new findings. So in some unspecified time interior the destiny, you ultimately ought to attain that there is rather NO factor IN ARGUING OR DEBATING. I recommend, specific, there are constantly those that have not heard a definite debate yet, and you opt to edify them as much as you may, yet there is rather no benefit in being right here (as quickly as you have heard all of it). So, incredibly some people merely finally end up being "goof balls." If there are those with a humorousness to savour it, that's great. If no longer...nicely, it rather is too undesirable for those people. of direction, it rather is much less complicated to proceed being facetious whilst people say issues to you like: "you're amazingly stupid and a classic occasion of disrespectfulness. carry your undesirable *** wrath on! you frighten noone different than per threat your guy or woman mom. you vulgar and depressing somebody" it rather is people like this that make each and all the foolishness precious. i'm unhappy to assert that i do no longer understand what faith this man or woman believes in, yet i've got seen many Christians behave and communicate interior the comparable way. i comprehend incredibly some you're rather great people, even yet it rather is people like this that supply you, and different religious communities, a foul call. i'm very sorry so which you may placed up with them being on your community, as i may be sorry to have an atheist like this in my community. possibly sooner or later, the international will advance to a factor the place people can incredibly get alongside without this variety of negativity and hatred. Who is familiar with? even however your Bible says it is going to end badly, we are in a position to nonetheless wish, good? yet until then, all of us ought to attend to even however we are in a position to. So, the exciting and video games will proceed, yet please comprehend that i do no longer hate you adult men. :P it rather is merely exciting that i wish you may proportion.

Ignorance is the scourge of mankind, the origin of all hate, misunderstanding, stupidity, cruelty, unfairness and misery.
And yeah, I'm pretty much tired of it. Many questions and answers on this site are more than enough to depress you to death.

I think people find it easier to generalize and stereotype, rather than take the time to actually learn. It's easier on their little "bwains..."
