Well...you could try to paint it his favorite color. One way to know what color is good is to get a sample square and tape it to the wall in a place where you or he will see it everyday. That way you can see if it'll work out. Darker colors will make a room feel smaller. Blue or green colors will give the room a more tranquil feel which helps for relaxation and sleeping, and bright "warm" colors will put more energy into the room.

Well if you son is old enough to talk and have an opinion, ask him he will like his room better if you give him some ownership of it.
If he is too young to have an opinion, light colors are usally good but don't go out on a limb and try light pink personally I think that would just be wrong.

Well, if your son is anywhere from 1-6, I think you should paint his room like a bright blue with white and dark blue accents. If your son is older than that, you should try any shade of olive or army green or dark blue.

Take this opportunity to be a father-and-son job. A once in a lifetime memory to cherish forever.
Let your son decide what's going to be on the wall. Let him design a sketch to draw on the wall. Shop for paints with him, help him on the way to finish it up. He'll love it.
Afterall, it's his private space.
He'll love you for that.

Ask your sons. If they are into anything, try to incorporate that into the theme of the room. They have some really cool wallpaper trim or even mural wallpaper to jazz things up.
Most importantly, let them help you ! ( unless, of course, they are under the age of 2 )

If the boy can talk and knows his colors, ask him what color would he like his room to be, after all he is the one who has to sleep in it.

Depends on the age of your son!. If he is a teenager, he might like a deep red, or a darker green/puddy colour. If he is still quite young maybe a primary colour, such as red, colbolt blue or forest green

Well since they are boys i should suggest Blue (like the sea blue) but if they are big boys you might let them decide what color they want it cause its their room and maybe the color you want to color it affect them and even don;t like it, so ask them.

paint the walls blue, but the cieleing black, and in most stores you can now, buy a kit that you can apply to the cieling, walls ect, of the different parts of the solar system, they glow in the dark, and are pretty cool, your boys can use bed time as a learning experience, by learning the different constellations, etc, in the solar system
