The Japanese love them. When I was in Italy I had calamari; fried squid. I didn't like it too much, but it is considered an European delicacy.

Calamari (fried squid) is excellent. Especially with marinara sauce. Try it!

Mmmmmmmmmm calamari! I love 'em fried or over pasta. As someone else pointed out, they're pretty popular here in San Francisco - had my first whole "baby octopi" as I called 'em at Mona Lisa's in North Beach ;)

They're tough & chewy like gummy bears but very tasty ;)

I have had calamari. It was better than I would expect (Spaghetti with Calamari was the dish, by the way) and excellent!
