i want the beard to grow out and see how long i can get it
and i've never had really long hair and want to try it, maybe long enough for a pony tail

I've tried telling my bf to trim his beard too. The reason why I ask him is because I don't find it attractive or clean. And if my bf tried to grow out his hair, I wouldn't appreciate that either. Beards and long hair is so outdated. I lose interest in my bf when I don't find him attractive. It's not a question of trying to change my bf it's just that I don't find it attractive and perhaps your wife feels the same.

I have to say keep your appearance closer to the way your wife likes it. I can say that most women are turned off by long, or sometimes ANY beards. I like long hair, only when it is kept impecably clean and cared for. But the point is.....what if your wife said, "honey, I feel like shaving my head just for the heck of it.....oh and I think I'll try growing the hair on my legs." It's not good when you're not attracted to your spouse, ya know? It's nice to think looks don't matter.....but they do.

Personally, long beards are a complete turn off! I always wonder what's growing in there or left over from your last meal! If your hair is clean and well groomed that wouldn't be an issue. All depends on hygiene.

There must be a way to compromise. Even if you do grow them, you should make sure it looks neat. There is a reason she wants you to trim it. A beard should be trimmed to look good. Try to find a happy medium. Good luck.

If you are just doing to try something different she should understand as long as you go back to what she likes. If you are just doing it to piss her off well us woman find a way to get it done (like getting you drunk and doing it ourselves!)
