like anything... opening a door for someone, leading a friend or family member money, picking up at work for someone, or getting someone out of a jam, or even going out of ur way for someone or even better, always being there for a friend or family member and feeling like they sometimes walk all over you at times, like as if as long as they are getting something out of it than its ok, but if they arent they are nowhere to be found... y is this? y is it that the good people always seemed to get dumped on...

Only if you allow that to happen. We teach people how to treat us by what we will allow. What is your agenda for helping them???? Goodness truly is it's own reward. My mother used to say that when i was a child. As a man, i have come to understand.Doing good speaks volumes of the content of your character and you get to create by your actions more ripples of goodness throughout the universe. How awesome is that!? I encourage you to continue to be the light in the world, but set boundaries on what you are willing to do. Let go of attachment.Have no agenda. Peace.

I think you're focusing too much on the closeness of the actual activity and any possible physical reward. Being nice is many times the reward itself. I feel better about being a human just by being kind. I don't expect someone to give me a dollar just because I held the door open for them. And all that stuff will come back around to you some day, some way. And even if it didn't, there's no downside to being nice just for the sake of being nice.

There's also the possibility, if you're talking about your friends, that you have the wrong friends. Frienship is a two-way street, or it's not really a friendship.

It's just good etiquette. You aren't meant to get rewards in life for stuff that you're suppose to do automatically...Rude people take advantage of nice and giving people in most instances - it's a fact of life...I don't know why, but it happens. Sometimes I don't even get a Thank You from someone when I do them a favor or help them out.

Don't worry, even if you do so many good things for people it will show at the end. The heavenly kingdom, God will reward you with a jewel on your crown, for every good deed you have done. yup.

I don't remember God promising anything for good behavior in this life. Do you? How you life your life is up to you. What we do know is in the end, we will be judge for the life we lead.

karma, hon, what goes around comes around. You must be doing something else that takes away from all your good deeds, unless you are only doing those good things to make yourself look good.

It seems, unfortunately, that nice guys finish last. Everyone takes them for granted.
