NOOOOOOOOOOO

read this...I am in cosmetology school and this is from my Salon Fundamentals book...

"After a few applications of henna can penetrate the cortex of the hair and build up. When this happens, the color is permanent since the molecules are anchored in the cortex. Hair that has been colored with henna sometimes cannot be permed since the resulting build-up doesn't allow the neutralizing solution to penetrate evenly. In additon, If henna product contains metals, the product may react violently with other chemicals used in salon services (like if you plan to later redye your hair or highlight it...I have seen someone with henna in their hair..we took a piece and put peroxide on it and it started smoking!!!)...If you put the henna on your hair...you HAVE to wait for it to grow out if you plan to do anything else to your hair (except cut and wash it).
DONT USE IT!!!

Yes, you can henna after a chemical tinting or chemical color job, but, not after a bleaching. Henna is a conditioner that will enter into the hair shaft. Bleaching strips the hair shaft leaving it very damaged.

You should only use henna after a chemical job only if your hair isn't fried. I like to use Rainbow Henna. They have about 13 different shades as well as a neutral henna without any coloring.

I've just been researching the use of henna for myself today. I believe the answer is no. There is something in the dyes used to color your hair which could react with the henna & turn your hair all kinds of funky colors. I believe the term used on a website was "frog butt green." Here's a link to help you.

Totally agree with 'ineedanswers' response. DO NOT use henna if you ever want to change your hair colour again. I tried to get it out with 40 vol bleach and after 3 times of bleaching my hair for several hours each time - NOTHING happened. I went to several salons that tried stuff and nothing worked with them either. The response from all professionals is - the only way to deal with it is to cut your hair all off. That was a year and a half ago and I finally got it all cut off and bleached it about a month ago.

Yes I would have to agree since Henna is natural it is good for your hair and is unlikely to damage it. Just make sure you use Egyptian Henna. You want to look like Lucille Ball ?
