This isn't really chatting. This is posting messages. In chat rooms whatever you type comes up on the screen and people can read it and respond immediately. Then you can answer back.
Message boards are a little different. Someone posts a comment and leaves it there. Then someone else or many people post an answer and it stays there.
This place is more like a message board, but one-sided.
