I have student loans out which I am paying off, since then my credit hasnt been so good, how can I go back to school if I dont have any money? I am only 1 semester short of an associates degree, and I went to a private college, so I owe the school &5,500. I would have to come up with &10,000 just to finish the last semester.

Finish at a Junior College, than transfer to a 4 year for your BA... If you are independent..(.married or over age 25.). Financial Aid will assist you.. But even so credit doesn't mean anything when it comes to school loans. I should know... I had bad credit before my loans were taken out... Its all about your education... so do it... Now or never... seriously.. = ]

Call that school and ask if you can take the courses at a community college and transfer it it toward your degree. If they allow that, you'll get that same degree, but the problem is that most school require you to take your last semester at their school even if they take transfer credits they want you there that last semester. Talk to the school and find out what the tuition is at your local community college. Good luck!

Try getting a forbearance on your loans. Most of them last for up a year. You can save money during that time then when you are in school sighn up for a in "school deferment". This will postpone your loan payments untill you are out of school.

I work in financial aid. If you tell me your adress and what servicer you have, I can send you the forms.
Usually the servicers websuite also has the forbearance forms.

Go to a community college. They have fee waivers where you don't pay for each course. You just have to find a way to buy the used books or team up with another student and share.

if you are not behind on your payments there is no reason you can't get another loan to finish school. why are you stopping at an associate's degree?

Try applying for financial aid and scholarships, but you might have to pay off the other school first.

Good luck!
