Dry skin maybe or some type of allergy. I would go to the vet and find out. There could be something in your house that causes it. My friend has a dog with that problem. Every time she take her dog over this one place, her dog itches for days. And it's not fleas. Her vet gave her dog pills to take.

It could be sun spots, fleas, allergies, or mange. If the dog stays out alot, then it is probally fleas. You can take it, and have it bathed, and hair cut at the local vet. They will let you know what is causing it.

well, if your dog doesn't have any obvious signs of fleas, it could be a skin infection or food allergy...you could try switching your dog's food, making sure to get a high quality food (such as canidae) to see if the itching stops.
