I don't know that it matters much. I've seen the high on walls, in windows, and slightly lower than a window.

I think it's important that you can reach the buttons and knobs to operate it and see the settings. You can adjust the grills (usually) so the air can blow up, down, right or left.

Put it on the upper portion. Hot air rises as cooler air falls-ever been in the 2nd story of a house without good air conditioning?

I have found that even though heat does rise, its best for me to put the air conditioner in the upper. That way it isn't blowing on you and getting too cold when you are in the room.

usually it used not too uper that the whole coolness goes into cieling not soo lower that the whole cool goes on the floor
normally it used the quatter
n if ur roofs are so high then it use in a little high from mid n if ur roofs are short then u should fixed it in quatter
n here is also moving grills in it but try to place in that side where u can easily get the coolness its also depend upon ur room's leanth

As heat rises, I would put it in the bottom of the room and vent the top of the room slightly

upper--hopefully the a/c unit also has a rotating vent function, if not then just point the vent toward the floor.
Enjoy you follow the installation instructions and allow for proper drain for condensation.

usually most ac's and placed in the lower portion for aesthetic reasons. as for practical reasons put it where it would give the most coverage with least obstacles
