My son who is now 24 and a father himself used to have nose bleeds all the time. I took him to the emergency room several times, had him checked by family physician and would watch him like a hawk. Nothing was ever found as the cause and he apparently has finally grown out of it. When it was the worst we lived in South Texas and had extremely high humidity and very hot temps. It may be that this could be a cause for it. You might think of taking her for allergy test. I never did because they can become so extensive and not to mention, expensive. It never progressed to the point of him becoming anemic because of too much blood loss but if that where found to be the case I would sure pursue medical care until somebody did something.

Well with 121 degrees, the humidity wouldn't always be that high right? Take her to the doctor, but first check out the weather conditions. If the humidity is anything above 80 or 90 %, then that would be the cause but still take her to the doctors.

NO. When i was a kid I used to get bloody noses in the night. My parents took me to the doctor and said not to worry. My blood vessels in my nose are close to the skin and if I would roll around in my bed or rub my nose it would bleed. Also during the winter is a bad time for that to because the air is so dry and makes your skin crack and your blood vessels in your nose will bust open!

I used to get a lot of nose bleeds when I was a kid also. The Dr. told my parents to put a humidifier in my room and the nose bleeds stopped. If you live in a dry climate, that might be your problem. I would still take her to the Dr. just to be on the safe side though. Good luck!

When i was around that age I would get them all the time, including multiple times a day. I still get them out of the blue. For me it has to do with my allergies and my sinus passages getting dried out. They thought it was something else and I was on calcium pills for lord knows how long until i finally said i wasn't taking another one. If you are worried have her checked out by a doctor. If it does have to do with allergies I use a saline nasal mist and it helps keep the passages moisten. Though i still get the occasional bloody nose out of the blue.

If she gets them when she is out playing - then it is probably that she has been active or the humidity - if you live in an area with high humidity. If she has recently gained weight - that can actually cause nose bleeds to happen. If it happens when there are emotional things going on with her or about her - darlin' that could be the source.
Whatever it is, if it continues, call her Peds office and check it out - or you can call your health care provider or check their website for information.

as she grows there are normal causes for this 1 she's developing allergies and the sinus tissues are inflamed. 2 she has a blood vessel that is thin within her nostril and it ruptures easily 3 with the onset on summer the drier weather causes more inflammation or 4 she has a slight sinus infection.. anemia is rarely a concern

All the previous advice is valid but I'd also take note of what is going one when the nose bleeds occur. My niece gets nose bleeds when the weather turns really hot or if she continually blows her nose. She has thin but normal blood vessels in her nose.
