Aromanian and Vlach are different languages. Aromanian is a variety of Romanian, some would say a different language depending on how you cut languages. But Vlach is a variety of Romani, which is an Indo-Aryan language and has its ultimate origin in northern India. The Romani people are the people often called Gypsies who are scattered through Eastern Europe and western Asia. Aromanian and Vlach are only distantly related languages and are not more closely related to each other than either is to English as all three are Indo-European languages.

XAIPE!
Definitely I have heard and read about Vlachs!
There are many theories about the origins of the Vlachs. They are of Greek origin and some claim that the Vlachs are the mixture of local populations with the Roman soldiers of the Roman Empire, in the Greek Peninsula (know as the Balkan Peninsula). They are related to Sarakatsans, and frequently we can't find if there are differences between them! Further, since the Sarakatsans are among the most ancient people and Greek and residents of the Greek Peninsula, Vlachs also are! We can find regions of Vlachs, throughout all Greek Peninsula, even further (mainly northeast, towards Vlachia, Moldavia, etc.)
