I've heard that it does but consider this a jellyfish sting is honestly an open wound it might be slight in conparison to ... i dont know having a C-section but it's still an open wound and the urin is full of all kinds of bacteria do you really want to take the chance of some sort of nasty infection by introducing that bacteria in to your body.

It worked for Monica on Friends, but I forgot why. Oh right, there's ammonia in that and it will help neutralise the poison or something.
From Wikipedia:
"Inactivating the nematocysts, or stinging cells, prevents further injection of venom into the patient. Five percent acetic acid solution (white vinegar) is the preferred method, although meat tenderizer, or sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) will neutralize any nematocysts that have not yet discharged into the skin. ...Salt water may also be used in case any of these compounds are not readily available, but fresh water should never be used. Rinsing the sting site with fresh water, rubbing the wound, or using alcohol, spirits, ammonia, or urine will encourage the release of venom."
There you go.

I've heard that it does, but I've never tried it. Vinegar and meat tenderizer is what the lifeguards use on the beaches. It has the same effect as urine. It neutralizes the stinger.
***Tip***The best thing to do is not wash off a jelly fish sting in fresh water, that is seen as a foreign substance by the stingers within the skin which cause them to "fire" even more. If there is sand or debris blocking the view of the sting then only wash it off in the salt water!!!

I recently remember reading (from a reliable source) that urine really does help reduce the pain from a jellyfish sting.

I know it woks on those underwater porcupine creatures (sea urchin), but I am not sure about the jellyfish. The ammonia in the urine is what neutralizes the pain.
No, I did not just go and research it - I knew.
