Some show like 20/20 completely debunked it. Look into his references. It is completely false.

I think it is very possible that Jesus was married and had a child with her. Jesus was a Jewish man...it would have been abnormal for him not to have a child and to be married. Even if it were true that God is Jesus and all that why wouldn't God want to experience life just as we do...getting married and having a family? If you were God wouldn't that be one of the things you'd want to experience?

If Jesus was married does that make his teachings any less true or any less good? Would that make you or anyone else believe in him any less? Wouldn't that make you believe and love him more because the things he says about wives and children and about life in general were actually lived by him.

The Da Vinci Code the book & movie is fiction but the concept is not. I have seen shows on the History Channel and the Discovery Channel about the scriptures that they found of Mary Magdalene and how they have had specialists look at the paper and have said the scriptures are authentic to have been written in the time of Jesus...either while he was living or after. Now I know that doesn't necessarily mean that it is true...but if you put aside what you've been taught your whole life...doesn't it seem a little possible? and doesn't it make a little sense?
Now the actual "Da Vinci Code" ya know the code of Da Vinci...we'll never know if all of that other stuff is true...unless they someday find a journal or something that was written by Da Vinci himself that confirms the reason the Mona Lisa smiles and if the person on Jesus' right hand is a woman or not. Its the same with everything about Jesus...we'll never know until we die or we find some scriptures possibly written by Jesus himself.

Yes I have read the book and seen the movie. The books is fiction, however it is based on an underground movement of belief based in Europe in the middle ages. There are those who believe absolutely that Jesus was married, and more than that his marriage was one that had spiritual meaning. That Mary M and Jesus were priest and priestess of the old religion and they practiced what is called Heirogamos. This is the rite of the sacred marriage of the male and female divinity. The book has nothing to do with my beliefs about Jesus being married.

Saw the movie and read the book. Skip the movie. I think it's a GREAT blend of fact with fiction. Very entertaining.

I guess I'm going to go with the fact that there were no ancient claims that Jesus was married, even from non-canonical writings. (ancient works around Jesus' time that were not included in the bible because Christians did not believe they were inspired by God.)

There were three woman that traveled with Jesus. (Mary, Joanna and Susanna, but there is no reson to infer that there was a romantic relationship with any one of them.

I don't see why if he was married, the ancient church would leave it out? Jesus always preached love.

Not sure if that answers your question, but that's what I know, anyway.

It's a good, entertaining read though.

I think we must see it as a possibility. We don´t even remember what happened last month, think about two thousand years ago!!! I´ve seen the movie and it is an interesting theory. No way to know if it could be true, I think, but still. However, it´s only a movie, and a book. As Bible also is.Just a book. Whether it was written by God´s inspiration or not...does it really matter??? If Bible words make you happy and doesn´t make you to harm anybody, well, go for it. If Koran does it the same, be happy. In the end, every religious book comes to the same conclusion: the only solution is love. Good Luck!!!

It is based off the Gnostic Gospel of Phillip which when found was badly damaged and had holes rattled through it. The Gospel refers to a section where it said Jesus and marry were companions(it supoposedly means husband wife in Aramaic). The only problem is the original Gospel of Phillip was written in Coptic, where companion simply means friend. Another spot references a sentence where it says Jesus kissed Mary on the ________ . It could have been anything; cheek, forehead, hand....
Try to remember it is just a book.

No, Jesus was not married. It says so in the Bible. If you don't believe in the Bible, well you'll have to decide on your own. I read the book and saw the movie. His first book, Angels and Demons, is so much better and a movie would be awesome for that book.

Yes, I believe Christ was married to Mary Magdalene. Any man considered a teacher(rabbi) would be married by the age of 30, if he was truly in concordance with God's law. The stories of M.M. being the prostitute of the previous story of "casting the first stone", I believe was propaganda by the Catholic church to promote celibacy among thier priests. It is unpopular my belief, but there is only two names in the Bible that include a first and last name, the other being Iscariot. Ask yourself, why did the apostles feel she was so important to give her full recognition?

dan brown published his book as fiction. why should i believe it. he is a teacher and not a historian wich is obvious because many of his claims in the book can bee proven false. he didn't do his research very carefully. i love the book because the story is well crafted. would you belive in wizards witches and drafons be cause you read harry potter? i don't understand why people belive a fictional book and why it causes such controversy.
