I do for one. I love to paint and enjoy their beauty, though it does depress me when i see what sort of art is considered (by critics) to be good these days. I think the art world has disappeared up it's own ***.

They are important to me. I am painting my way through a back injury and it is keeping me sane. I paint beauty and am uplifted by the act. People are responding to my paintings with delight. Have even sold a few and that has helped with finances. So, yes, paintings are important.

By the time we do not understand art, we have finished as human race!
By the way, I love painting! When I had properly manging my time, I was painting (using oil paints) and ti was great contribution to m peace in mind, vision, relaxation!

I find it important, because from centuries till now we still using canvas to paint and sell currently, and were exhibited too.

Yes, both for the people who paint them (whether as therapy or whatever) and for the people who look at them.
I'm just fed up of looking at cr*p ones, cash ins and shock horrors. Revive expressionism!

I love
paiting *(used to be one of my main hobbies) which I used to have art lessons but now I changed to Design Technology which is more about designing....
