How is being gay or committing adultery any worse than any other "sin" in fact i beleive that i remember from my christian upbringing that the bible clearly says that all sins are EQUAL in the eyes of god and that no man should place judgement on another man. Your bible tells you to leave judgement to god, yet you refuse. Explain

To clarify, by generalisin "christians" in my statements, i am not referring to each individual, only their leaders and public representation. Esentially the media recognized hive mind of christianity.

the bible they so claim to live by specifically warns them no to judge.... christians hold onto what makes them feel superior to others yet always fail to see the warnings of their behavior. I would really like to see them judge themselves the way they judge us. " Hypocrites, don't fix the speck in another's eyes while you have beams in your own."

The Bible says that ALL have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. Nowhere is a qualification put on sin. In fact, the Bible says in James, that teachers and preachers and Christians in general will be judged more harshly if they fall from Grace. That means walking behind light - not doing the things you know to do. In Heaven, at the Judgement Seat, all Christians will receive rewards based on what they have done for the Kingdom of God and the motive behind it. (Most people try to ignore that second part.) All Christians will share in Heaven but some will have greater rewards because of their efforts to win others to Christ without thought of reward from man or God.

God cannot tolerate sin. That is why we have been given direction by prophets, and scriptures as to what His will is for us. As for the judgement of others, they should not come to bear on your sense of right and wrong, or your relationship to God. Remember that there is a distiction to be made between 'passing judgement' and 'exercising judgement'. I use my best judgement all the time, but I would be crossing the line if I was to try to condemn anyone to hell or something like that. I just dont have the power to do that. My advise would be to disregard the value judgments of others, but at the same time, honestly evaluate your choices, and make your own judgements as to whether or not a change is in order.

It is wise to leave judgment up to God, unless you know that a fellow Christian is living in sin. Do you know where in the Bible that it says that "sins are equal?"

God has appointed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness. To think that an old lady who dies and goes to hell would recieve the same punishment as Adolf Hitler is not true.

Sinners often accuse God of being unjust, because they assume that everyone will receive the same punishment in hell. God’s judgment, however, will be according to righteousness (Acts 17:31). This verse shows that there will be degrees of punishment. See also Mark 6:11. Hope this helps!

Christians should not place judgement (Matthew 7), however by becoming a christian, someone should try their hardest to be Christ-like. By sinning on purpose and avoiding Christ's teachings, we are not being very good christians at all. Everyone is guilty of sin, and yes, in God's eyes all sins are equal. However this does not mean society should embrace a sin such as homosexuality. People should not be encouraged to sin, so it is not okay to commit adultery or be gay, by doing them you are drawing yourself away from God.

The single greatest cause of athiesm in the world today is Christians who acknowledge Jesus Christ with their lips, then walk out the door and deny Him by their lifestyle. that is what an unbeiliving world simply finds unbelievable.
Please don't say taht about all Christians, since you havn't of course met them all. Many people claim to be Christians that really arn't. A true Christian should not continusely do that. They would know it's wrong. I'm sorry that you've had such a bad experience. We should never judge each other, when we are all sinners and all sins are wrong.

Many non-Christians do not understand judging......The Judge is God and knows your heart. You go to hell for denying Jesus. If a you are gay or in adultrey, the world makes it look normal and acceptable and you may not know you are doing wrong so maybe a Christian will point it out to you. There are many sins and they have consequences. I commited adultrey before I became a Christian and am still dealing with the hurt because the man who left his wife for me left me and my kids. One who is Christian will know that those things are wrong and stay away from them. Because they love you and dont want you to be ignorant and suffer the consequenses. If you are Christian and have made a mistake, ask for forgiveness and stop doing the sin. And if someone gets on your case, say that you have asked for forgiveness and you working on it and to please be patient because you know it is wrong and God is helping you get over certain issues.

You're right! All sins are equal in the eyes of God. But, not all sins have equal degrees of consequences to those human beings affected by a given sin.

First, I believe that God created everything. Further, I think that all that was created is, in God's eyes, "good". Now, in the first three chapters of Genesis, God showed that he loved the human beings that he created so much that He gave them a gift so magnificent and so dangerous that proved that He had absolute confidence in them. He gave them and all mankind the gift of "free will", the power to be absolutely free to think, say and do anything they chose. But, every use of "free will" results in consequences which affect the "will-er" and/or others.

The rest of the Bible (God's Users Manual) is His teaching His loved ones about the gravity of the consequences of mankind's choices.

Christians rank sins and place judgement because they are without guidance and therefore, most of their belief is mere conjecture. Since the Bible has been changed so many times by human beings, they have no proof as to what they believe or say.

Read the Letters to the Corinthians. See if the Apostle Paul felt that Christians shouldn't judge others.

Also, Read the Gospels, JESUS had some pretty harsh words for those of us who continue to enjoy living in and ignoring our sin.

Annanias and Saphira in the Book of Acts might possibly be wishing somebody would have corrected them in their behavior before they thought they should lie.

GOD showed us throughout history that sin is destroying us. It is keeping us from relationship with HIM. Tolerating sin in a fellowship of believers will destroy us. Perhaps we aren't careful enough to practice proper discipline and edification of one another, but that doesn't mean we should say the sins of ourselves and others are ok.

It's human nature!! EVERYONE does that... not just christians... the thing is christians back up their critizisism with biblical refrences.

And you are right ALL sins ARE equal in the eyes of God.

Humans believe sins have levels, in order to punish bad people. Would you fine someone who is a serial killer and give the death penalty to someone who stole a bag of chips?? I don't think so. To judge is human so you know not to repeat the things other people do. That's all it is.
