Find out if the couple is registered anywhere like Bed Bath and Beyond or LinensNthings or Lowe's or Home Depot or Macy's or Target .... You get the idea. Most of the time you can find out from the websites from these companies to figure out which items have already been purchased for the couple. And just get them a gift that won't break the bank. If you can spend 300 bucks then go for it. If you can only spend 50 bucks. Then spend 50. Good luck.

Just get the couple a gift card to their favorite restaurant/store. This way they can buy whatever they need/want. Buy a gift card where people shop often like Target and Walmart. If it's a gift card to a restaurant like Olive Garden, it would give the couple a chance have a night out to go eat, instead of the burdens of cooking dinner. Spend around $50-$100 depending on how well you know the couple. You can buy discounted gift cards on eBay instead of the actual store itself, but hurry! They sell fast!

Spend what you can afford. One of my best friends got married in 2004 and I got her a gift from her registry which was about 30 bucks. But I didn't worry about the cost because I knew the item I picked was something she needed and wanted. and when it came down to it, she was just happy that I was there to celebrate her wedding!

Have a great time!

I always try to choose something on the bridal registry that is within my budget, since I know that the bride and groom took the time to chose those items that like. If there is no bridal registry, then simply choose something nice but neutral, like a cream colored plush bath towel set. Gift certificates to a local specialty shop you know the couple frequents might also be a good solution.

It depends on whats on the registry, how much can afford, and how close are to the people or even the person that is getting married. If that doesn't work , get a gift card from Target or Wal-Mart.

family and close friends: around $100
i don't look to spend say $100.00, i buy on clearance that the retail value is 100. and i hope to get it at least 50 percent off.

co-workers: fifty or under

i like to give personalized gifts. i go to close out stores and buy a family bible (of their religion) and get the bride and grooms names engraved on it and the wedding date
(example: James and Gina Gotsomebucks), i don't usually put Mr and Mrs Gotsomebucks because the woman likes to see her name with her new last name (Gina Gotsomebucks), when i got married, i felt slighted seeing Mr and Mrs. everyone will get them gifts (crystal, picture frames, etc) to sit around the house that are way too expensive that will have to be put away either due to getting pets later or having kids, TRY GETTING SOMETHING THEY CAN PASS DOWN TO THEIR KIDS and cherish, or another idea would be a personalized photo album to put their umteen pics from the wedding in that looks classy and maybe can be engraved. if you get a bible or photo album, sign your name in it so twenty years from now they will know it's from YOU or YOU and your GUEST.
good luck

You should not worry about the amount. last year I went friend's wedding, everbody gave about 300doller each in the envelope to her but I bought just one photo frame with 10doller and I told her to keep the best wedding photo in this frame so that this frame will be the best memory for them. She was happy and she does it. But of course it depends how much you are close to the wedding couple. That time I flew to Canada from holland to attend the wedding, it was already a lots of money...

no less than $10 if you're broke but as much as you feel like you want to

take a look at the registry and just find something in the price range you decide beforehand, $25, $50, $200 whatever it may be

You give according to your means and your relationship to the bridal couple. Give one hour's pay or $10 (whichever is more) at the VERY least. If you see a great deal of either bride or groom, or if there is some especially close bond, then give more, according to how much or how close.
