I don't have a set time for mine, and tend to let her go to bed when she is tired. She's busy though so she tends to be ready by 1030. I would say 11:00 max though as there really isn't anything else age appropriate for them to do (unless watching a DVD).

Let them go to bed whenever they get tired. It's mean to give them a bed time during the summer. It's their only chance to have free time during the year and actually stay up late without having to worry about school the next day. Don't you remember staying up late over summer and sleeping in, those are the things that define summer. But it really is up to you and it depends on your child so do whatever you feel is right for them, just don't be the person that works your kid all day then sends them to bed at 7

I WOULD SAY THE BEST TIME FOR A 12 YEAR OLD TO GO TO BED DURING SUMMER VACATION IS AROUND 1000 OR 1100.

I HOPE THIS HELPS!!

Give em a list of things to do during the day to keep em busy, especially yard work, and let them go to bed when they please. Eventually they'll wise up and come to terms that manual labour is much more pleasant in the early morning before it gets hot. Summer is an excellent time to teach them time management that will help them be successful in high schoo and beyond.

Doesn't matter whether it's the vacation or not. 12 year olds should still go to bed before 9pm. It's always the 'naughty kids' at school who are allowed to stay up late all the time.

As long as your child is home and you know what they are doing it does not matter what time they go to bed. Then about 3 weeks before school starts gradually bring the time down to where you want them to go suring the school year.

I let mine stay up all night long, if they want. That is one of my favorite memories as a preteen and teenager. Watching movies until the sun came up. The summer was the only time my parents allowed that activity.
