It depends on what type of remote and/or what type of car.
If you need the original remote from the car manufacturer, try the dealer or you may find one on eBay.
It will have to have the correct transmit frequency to communicate with the car. The dealer should be able to tell you the what item and part number you need to get.

If it is an aftermarket alarm try these first...

1 Contact the alarm installer.
2 Contact the alarm manufacturer.
3 last choice it to get a new alarm. But make sure that the new alarm is installed and warranteed. I have heard of people having problems with alarm systems installed after another failed.

The person who said Autozone has a good idea, too. Autozone used to advertise that they could get any car remote.

Good luck

Assuming you are talking about replacing a lost or broken door lock remote, and seeing as this is in the Nissan category, go to your local Nissan dealer's parts department. They can order you one.

Try calling the dealership to see what they think. Also, check stores that sell car accessories, which will probably have one. Also, another option is to ask auto-repair shops, and see what they suggest.

Look up your local Nissan dealer, and play him off with other companies who specialize in accessories. You could also try your local scrapyard.
