I'm trying to create 360 tours with a nikon coolpix8400, and ArcSoft panorama maker....It's not producing anything of good quality. Do I need better software or equipment? I need some advise.

Not familiar with ArcSoft, but maybe you should go with a lower tech approach like PowerPoint, or the slide show software that came with the Nikon.

With PowerPoint you can do all sorts of scene transitions, add text and special effects, have a soundtrack etc. When you save your work there is an option that lets you create a file that can be viewed by anyone, whether they have PP installed or not.

If you are wanting to produce good quality video tours, you are going to need something a little better than a coolpix and ArcSoft.

I'll actually use a professional grade digital video recorder to record multiple views and rooms, then I'll import the images into Flash to create the tour itself.

However, there is software out there such as Tourweaver (the link is below) that I've heard is quite good. You may want to check it out.
