i am american, Im NOT Christian.
There are about 2 churches in 1 neighhood ratio, that is how people are brought up, to believe the same thing and be orderally. I mean what would happen if people actually thought for themselves? It all ends up being affliated with the goverment, they want masses of people thinking the same things so they dont have to deal with other crap, people wouldn't all vote for some pertically person because he said something about there god...I mean what happened to seperation between state and church?!

Ok- now because you are Christian, you are not normal?
Well, I live a pretty normal life - I am married and have 3 kids. My kids play sports, I am very involved with their school - it is public - and also very involved with the sports that they play. I work part time and have a variety of friends, most of which are not Christian, or are, but don't go to church. I use to teach school too.
Honestly, I don't see how you could get anymore normal than that.
Also, I only answer religious questionson this board. I don't try to preach and I don't butt my head in where it doesn't belong and try to talk about things I don't know about. Not that religion is the only thing I know, I am very worldly, I just don't talk about things I don't believe in. But, I do go visit other boards and answer and ask questions that are not about religion and don't bring up anything about religion.
So Please don't just assume all Christians are the same and put us in some category where we all look like freaks that can only preach because that is all we know.
Thank you!

News flash for you....Christianity is the norm.

There are more Christians in the U.S.A. and in the world than any other religion, and atheists are very few in the U.S.A. and in the world (comparatively speaking). Is this why you are so insecure and afraid of us Christians?

By the way, the 10% statistic in the U.S.A. only says that they don't have a religion which doesn't necessarily mean that they are atheist.

I used to not have a religion before becoming a Christian, but I was never against it.

U.S.A. Religions:
"Protestant 52%, Roman Catholic 24%, Mormon 2%, Jewish 1%, Muslim 1%, other 10%, none 10% (2002 est.)" -CIA World Fact Book

World Religions:
"Christians 33.03% (of which Roman Catholics 17.33%, Protestants 5.8%, Orthodox 3.42%, Anglicans 1.23%), Muslims 20.12%, Hindus 13.34%, Buddhists 5.89%, Sikhs 0.39%, Jews 0.23%, other religions 12.61%, non-religious 12.03%, atheists 2.36% (2004 est.)" -CIA World Fact Book http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/xx.html#People

Nearly 90% of Americans claim to be Christian. Being Christian is not wrong nor insane--it is the very religion (at least in principle) of the Founding Fathers. Is it really that surprising to you? It is the logical outcropping of years of Christianity that many are Christians. Doesn't seem that mind-blowing to me. :>

Signed,

A sane Christian

Personally I'm not a christian or a normal person.
I don't think genuinely normal people exist.
Then again I don't believe genuine christians exist as it seems to have become the self proclaimed "dominant religion" through force of arms.
Always be afraid of people who are convinced they're right, because they don't pull punches. I think people on both sides of this argument have something to learn from that.

If you haven't noticed this would be the RELIGION AND SPIRITUALITY section of yahoo answers. Maybe your looking for something here. Last time I checked the atheist/ agnostic people weren't religious or spiritual. Evolution is more scientific than religious. The United States is full of us Jesus loving Christians, so if you don't like it then it's not my problem take it up with Him.

because its an answers site and the people answering questions cant go into a decent debate- its a one sided arguement and the christians have the advantage because of the type of place this is. you can go back and forth like a tennis match in a debate site but in yahoo answers you can go back and forth once and thats it.

christians like to play unfairly and this is the perfect place to do it. theres the report abuse on the side for the people they dont like and then theres the fact that it is not a chat room and just a one sided conversation with the masses.

There are a tremendous amount of christians in America. I'm moving to Mars.

Also you have people like LAM who's been posting the same 10 page long 'answer' on everyone's questions all day long.

Why would anyone want to be normal? Normality drowns creative thought, it shrouds unique perception, and stunts intellectual growth. You don't have to be a Christian from America to understand this. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask, you'll get the answer! Have a nice day! =)

Non-Christians used to have go in hiding, but now they have a chance to express themselves safely on the internet. Like the gays, the non-believing normal people are at last coming out into the open.
