interrogation. works best when kids are around too. Ask her why she wants balls, what she uses them for. If she insists, ask her what the kids did to her lawn/house/etc. to make her so upset.

your neighbor is a miserable B!#*H, she feeds off of things that give her a reason to yell and make a big deal. Avoid her, she has a right to get mad, but she really shouldn't. What i think you should do is just tell the kids to play within your yard and to try not to allow the balls to go over to her yard. and if she complains that the kids should stop playing even in your own yard, call the cops and be the first to make the complaint.

Invite her to call the police. Then the police can get all of your balls back from your neighbor and return them to your children.
We had a similar situation with a neighbor that also had a "younger" child. A couple of year's later, their child's football came into our yard....we just happened to be home.
After a few silent moments (staredown). My son kindly picked up the ball and gave it back to the boy who was now 10 or 11 but not before he told the boy how his "dad" behaved when his ball went into their yard.
Funny thing, haven't had a problem since....
Isn't it amazing how people seem to forget who they once were or where THEY came from?

Take them to a park. Let them ride over to the neighborhood park. It would help you to be with them anyway. My freakin' neighbors soccor balls are always in my yard. I throw them back, and here they come again. It is a PITA ! Put some sort of net above your fence while they play. The neighbor has made you aware that it is an issue. If you continue to do it, then you have to accept their reaction.

Make sure the balls stay out of her yard. She has every right to enjoy her own home without other people's stuff intruding on her privacy. The kids CAN play ball without involving her yard. I know it can be done. I have children of my own.

Call the police, tell them your having a dispute with your neighbor and let them set the rules.
Or go to a park and let them play ball there.

Ask her if she was ever a child...and then report her to the police for THEFT...if she willingly refuses to return the balls.
And you might also ask her when was the last time she got laid! Jeez!

i'd tell ur son to keep playing, just get a ladder to hop the fence when one goes over. my guess is if she gets pissed enough she'll move.
