I don't think it's very efficient to group everyone into two groups like that. I'm sure that there are people in both groups that love their parents relentlessly, and I am also sure that there are members of both groups that despise their parents and everything they stand for.
After all, not even Buddhists are perfect.

Christians love their parents much more than Buddhists or anyone does. Jesus was the perfect example. He shows how much He loved His mother and father by being obedient to them even though He was God. He lived with His mother for 30 years out of His love for her.
Sometimes love forces us to do things that may seem cruel, but truly are not. Tough love is the sometimes the truest (and most difficult) form of love.

The basis for the charater of God, who He is and what He is about is spelled out in The Ten commandments starts with Exodus 20, the first four deals with our relationship with God, the last six deal with each other, the FIRST of these commandments is to Honor our parents, and that commandment is A forever commandment, as to is there A God, you know we shoot rockets into space seeing if there is any body there, anyone with A brain we can talk to, God don't you think looks at us wondering the same thing, "If you love me keep my commandments" If you want to talk wgr88@yahoo.com free Bible lessons, at www.itiswritten.com God Bless, by the Way There is NOT another Way to The Father but by Jesus Christ, buddhists worship A dead being, Jesus is alive and is In charge of YOUR salvation, If you seek Him YOU WILL find Him "IF" you seek Him with ALL your heart.

interesting. if we wereto look at it by the numbers it would look something liek this:
Christian Love
- Mother & Father: 50%
- God: 50%
Buddhist Love
Mother & Father: 100%
- God: 0%
so yes, buddhists love their parents more than christians. now usually christians will stupidly clai mthat they love their god more than their parents....so the number for the christians might be lower than 50%

It's a good question.
I'll ask this in return: How much do Buddhists "love" their parents? Is there "equanimity" in the way? (i.e., a sense of peaceful dettachment that would be alien to a westerner's concept of love?)
Buddhism says that life is suffering.
Suffering comes from desire.
Get rid of desire, and you get rid of suffering.
Much of how a Christian views "love" (as "passion" meant to be harnessed for good) seems to go against the buddhist teaching of detachment.
And I'm not sure how much buddhists can "love" in the way we understand it, if they are truly detached and impersonal as their belief system dictates.
As far as how much Christians "love" their parents: God loves people enough to suffer and die for them. He asks us to be willing to lay our own desires aside and be willing to suffer in order to help others, if need be.
He does ask to be the Christian's primary motivation in life, but doesn't that make sense?
Putting a single person first is noble, but everyone dies. If God is permanent (doesn't die), and if God promises life to all those who loves him, doesn't it make sense to love God the most so that you will also love everyone else as well?
I'm not sure how buddhism chalks all that up. You're supposed to be detached -- and no person is really "loved" more than another. You're equally detached from all people, and love is impersonal, not personal like in Christianity.

The Bible commands Christians to honor their parents. It also commands them to love everyone.
Christians who don't love their parents are disobeying God.

I know for a fact that some christian parents whould disown thier kids for saying they are not christian or not christian anymore.
Parents who dont love thier kids are the real ones that disobey God.
to ginny...But being a christian makes you love them in a true deep way ---- as in incest?
i noticed that another nick of mine was suspended. i guess christians dont believe in freedom of speech just freedom for christians only
