I am 3 months pregnant and have to move in a week. Its only me and my 5yr old son and husband. We have to move in a week and have no one to help us. We don't have enough money to pay moving poeple and all our family members are either sick or they live to far away. We don't know anyone close by. Everyone we know lives 3 to 6 hours away. What should we do ? Any advice ?

It seems like you'll just have to move yourself! I don't know what kind of answer you were looking for. Just take it easy and let your husband do most of the heavy lifting.

Look up the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints in the yellow pages. Find the nearest one by you. You will get the number for the church phone, call on a Sunday or Wednesday to make sure someone is there. It may also have the Bishops phone under there, call him if you can. If you can't get in contact with them just continue to call everynow and again if they don't have a answering machine. You could also contact the missionaries of the church if you can.

The church will help, but you must be ready to move when they come to move. We don't like to pack things in boxes and everything when we get there. If you can assure them you will be packed then you'll get alot of people there to help you move very quickly. They can also probably get members from the place your moving to help move your stuff into the new house.

It may not be easy lifting things but you can always help pack or even keep your son from bothering your husband. You do not always need other peoples help. Make small trips. take as much stuff as you can apart and move it in a minivan or even a regular car and if worse comes to worse you can rent a van for very little. Borrow some ones van and offer to pay them.

Go to a moving company and rent a dolly and truck for a day. Get everything packed before you start to move. Maybe your husband has some male friends who would be willing to help out. Pregnancy is not a disability - I hauled water out of a well until the day before my son was born.

I'm hoping that you're not trying to get out of lifting, packing, etc., just because you're pregnant! I was moving at eight months pregnant, washing floors, etc., so get off your butt and get going! Your husband will appreciate you not whining either!

What about a church? I know if you go to some churches and ask for hep they might be able to tell their congregation and have them come and help. Plus this will give you an opportunity to meet new people.

Get off of the computer, start packing some boxes and move. You don't have a choice, maybe some one at your church if youbelong to one, if not, what choice do you have.

there should be something like a pregnancy crisis center that can help you get housing for you and your family. they will suggest section 8 and HUD. they will give you affordable housing according to your income. go to your local health department and ask them about it. they should be able to help since they do help you out WIC and Medicaid.

That really sucks that you have no one to help you. No friends or neighbors? Add detail to your question and tell where you live and maybe you can get someone to help you.....
