Nibert or NiBert. Wondered if any of you may have indepth information on this name, its meanings or origins?

Braun, otoh, very common---'brown' in German language. Wondered if it just means that, "brown color"? Or does it have an older meaning to it from centuries ago?

Nebel

German and Jewish (Ashkenazic): from German Nebel ‘fog’, ‘mist’, Middle High German nebel. diminutive of Knabe.

I didn't click on Knabe or even start on Braun. Give a person a fish and all that.

Nibert is from the Schleswig-Holstein, Bavaria area of Germany which my ancestors are as well. The name means 'fog' or 'mist.' You were correct about the Braun. Brown hair, eyes & or coloring.
