Why do Christians praise Jesus?

Question

In the bible "God says" dont put anyone before me. even jesus says i am not God.
But christians continue to plasture his "picture" on their walls and scream his name, why is this?

Holy Trinity sure. none of u really now what ur talking about u read some book that king james has altered and believe every word and expect me to study it. HOLY MOLY yeah right

all these verses that u guys are talking about i can find at least 3 that contradict them. the bible is a contradiction within itself

Yes and in the Lord's prayer Jesus says..."when you pray, pray in this way....OUR FATHER who is in heaven"....(emphasis added)

He says Our father not My Father....we are children of God as well see.

He also says..."I have not come to accept praise from man" in I think it was John ch 5?

So when these churches are praying to Jesus they are disobeying Him.

Get into some Bible Studies and learn about GOD, Jesus, And the Holy Spirit!.....Many of the people on yahoo are not Saved or Spiritually Educated in the Biblical Things of God!......I know you're not going to understand this but I'll try!......God the Father, God the Son, And God the Holy Spirit...All In One!....Example:..egg yolk, egg white, and egg shell = Egg!.....Remember He's GOD, and all things are possible with GOD!.....Search out a Pastor!

Because several years ago some men got together and wrote a neat little book called the Bible, although the term Bible is also used to describe mock-ups for beginning soap operas...hhhhmmm? And now people have taken what the Bible says as being the only truth there is despite evidence to the contrary and well I guess people have to believe in something. Plus it is probably just easier for some people to believe in Jesus that way when they do something stupid they have someone else to blame it on rather than take responsibility for their own actions.

Because we are told to in the Bible:) There are many versus in which we (Christians are to praise and Worship our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ) The confusion may be that Jesus Refers to the Father as God which is true.(The Triune God The Father,Son, and Holy Spirit) They are ONE ! The best illustration I have to explin this is a prisim. If you pass a white light thru a Prisim it breaks up into different colors of light ,blue,red green etc..They are different colors of light yet theyl come from the same white light!! As far as the plastering of pictures I agree with you that is not biblical. Praise and worship yes screaming no! Those are my thoughts. I hope I helped.

Because people can't conceptualize praising to something as ambiguous as "God"

Personally I think that Jesus and the Bible were written by people of higher intelligence to give people of average intelligence something to understand besides- "Ok, so there were these micro-organisms that evolved into fish, then the fish grew legs....." and so on. This also created a built in set of "laws" to keep society from imploding. Most people today don't really understand evolution so how could people who lived at the time of Jesus?

We praise Jesus because he is the son of God. He came to earth as a human, and died for our sins. If you read on, God said in Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has risen him from the dead, you will be saved. We praise God AND Jesus. If you are still confused, read the Bible and/or ask your local preacher.

Because Jesus Christ is Lord. He is part of the Holy Trinity. The Three in One. He is the son of God. We have never seen an image of God the Father nor of the Holy Spirit but we have seen images of God the Son.

In the bible "God says, I am the Lord, Thy God. Thou shalt not have strange gods before Me." (Source: the Ten Commandments). At Jesus' baptism, the clouds opened up and voice of God the Father was heard to say, "This is My Beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him."

I've never read Jesus saying I am not God. Jesus says "I know the Father and the Father knows Me."
and "Whatsoever you ask the Father in My Name, He will grant you."

We praise Jesus because He is the only source of eternal life, and He laid down His life for us of His own free will, suffering more than anyone had ever suffered or will ever suffer and did nothing to deserve the punishment He received. He is and was and ever shall be THE BEST!

Its the Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. And they are considered to be one somehow. I agree with your contempt for the contemporary image of a white Jesus, the bible said he had hair of wool and skin of bronze. Most white Americans would have seen him as black or middle-eastern. P.S. Adam and Eve were black too and the garden of Eden was in Africa, but that is just my opinion I'm not trying to preach.

Because He is worthy! Worthy is the lamb that was slain before the foundations of the earth Jesus is God! He has Risen! I don't plaster pics of Jesus all over because frankly I don't think most of them accurately represent Jesus Christ When you are completely broken and are in a Crisis of belief call out to Jesus and you will understand why.
