Really, why should I become a Christian? I want rational reasoning as to why I should accept Christ, not blind statements along the lines of: "Because he died for your sins.", or other things like that.

Best answer goes to the first to explain to me without using such statements or alluding to unsupported Biblical verses.

You already know the answer to the question!
Becoming a Christian, is like, a membership, ownership, eternal inheritance to heaven and it's riches after life.
While still on this earth is the security, love, peace knowing that the Father, Son and Holly Spirit will meet all my needs.
Lastly because none wants to end up in hell, a place of eternal punishment for all the wrong things said and done!

i am a Christian because of what God has done for me- not blessed me by giving me a family or a virtually warless nation to live in- but by being by my side every day no matter how good or crappy it gets. i've never seen someone's eyesight restored or anything yet, but i've had little miracles happen to me in my life.

i guess i'll tell you about one. it's small but it happened. when we were kids i was going to a separate school than my younger siblings and got home much later than them. our winters were freezing, and this one winter day it was about -40 degrees Celsius which freezes your skin and is dangerous, especially for kids. i was at school and was sick when i realized i locked the garage door and my brothers and sister wouldn't be able to get in (my parents both worked late). I asked God to unlock the door for me so they wouldn't freeze and hoped that he'd do it. when i got home they were inside watching tv and said the door was unlocked. i was relieved. maybe sounds silly but it happened. that kind of stuff happened all the time. i know that bad things happen to kids too and i'm not immune to tragedy, but little incidences like these solidified the fact that there was some type of connection between God and me when i asked him for things.

things in this world are so bleak, the things ppl are capable of doing are disheartening. i think if there was to be a belief that was the truth, it'd have to be the extreme of goodness. a belief of God sending part of him to pay the price for us is beyond what others thought would happen after we were separated from him. If God didn't exist, I swear to you I'd rather die today, because he is the only reason I've decided to keep going. If there's no God, there's no point in living and I just couldn't care less. I work in child protection and see and hear the worst things... things that happen to the most innocent children. I think it's because earth is like a battleground and we aren't guaranteed a great life here. If there are two extremes- hate and love, then there has to be an absolute extreme. to me that is a loving God.

i never really put my faith into perspective until i read this fantasy trilogy called "the Circle" (black, red and white) by Ted Dekker. it's a good story if you aren't into Christianity anyway, but it has changed my perspective completely.

it's your choice though, no one can boss you around. it's impossible to truly believe in something that you were bullied into.
anyway i'd better get back to work.

god bless and take care

Think about your life and what's missing. You may think that you have everything you want, but it always seems like your not completely whole. Everyone has an empty spot inside them that they try to fill with material posses ions, sex, drugs, alcohol, and anything else that can take away the void. Nothing will fill it except God. Think about it. If God is real then he made you and put you here for a reason. Your life would have a meaning. If there is no God then your here by accident and you will live and then die. Nothing else. Your purpose on this Earth would be much greater than you thought it was. God thinks your important and has a job for all of us. When God created man (and women)everything was perfect. They were made for each other as equals. There was no sin no sadness, no hate, no tears, everything was great. They could walk with God, see him, and talk with Him. All there food was taken care of, they really had no responsibilities. There job was too be with God. He created us to love us. He doesn't need love. He wanted something to love. Jesus was with God in the very beginning. When he makes man he says "Let us make man in OUR image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them." Genesis 1:26-27 Adam and Eve sinned by eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil(the first sin). God then cursed the future generations with having to work and do everything for themselves. Women's labor would be painful. Their relatuionship would be hard man now would have rule over women instead of being equal. They had to leave perfection and they were separated form God. From the beginning to the time till Jesus came there was no way for us to be with God. You can't have something unholy in the same presence of something Holy. The only way that God could fix the problem was through sacrificing his Son Jesus. Jesus was fully man and fully God. That means that he was the perfect sacrifice. He was sinless from the time her was born until his death. Now God never understood how people could sin because he can't do it. That's why God became man. Now he could understand us and feel everything we do. He died for us so we could be with him. Now we can be with God because Jesus was the link that connects us to God. I hope you really take this into consideration and best of luck! Any other questions please feel free to email me.

It's not just becoming a Christian, it's forming a relationship with Jesus Christ. Saying, "I'm a Christian, and I go to church every Sunday," isn't going to get you to Heaven. It's forming a relationship with God (your creator), and letting Him be the ruler of your life. People make it sound like all Christians have boring lives and have to follow all these rules, but if you're a true Christian it's not like that at all. Being a Christian is so fun & exciting, if you allow God to make it that way. I hope you find God. Jesus loves you!

Jen is right. I just dropped out! It did me no good..... I was born into a Christian family and claimed to be a Christian for 24 years (I'll be 25 in 3 months....). After some soul searching... I decided none of it made any sense and just put my trust in God, but not that other "stuff." Hope you find what you're looking for.

P.S. Christians, please do not bombard me with emails about that religion. I am done. Thanks!

You shouldn't! because Christians teach Lies about what Jesus actually taught. They worship in fact three gods and call them one. A "god team/family". The Qur'an is the key to understanding. If you read The Qur'an you will understand the other scriptures

Either Jesus is who He claims to be, namely the son of God or He is not. If He is not the son of God, and not God Himself then there is no point to your question. Why worship a fake? I believe that Jesus was born, is the son of God and is God himself. If He is God then anything but true worship would be unacceptable.

You might be better off just trying to be a decent guy. I honestly don't believe that Jesus wanted anyone to give him their soul. I think he would have much rather taught us how to fish instead.
