I have a chihuahua and he is the most loving gentle dog he is 2 years old. all my friends and family that come over my house says he has a licking problem because he always wants to lick u. i thought it just meant he was giving kisses that he likes u. Whats your opinion.

I have read that this may be caused by low esteem. I know that sounds crazy but you can actually modify the dogs behavior if he licks too much. Good luck.

Yes, I think it's usually a sign of affection. But some people just don't like it. Maybe you should try and train him not to do it so much.

it's usually a sign of affection, but if he's ALWAYS doing it, it could turn into a problem.
