Assumption is that you have a source of food that you can freeze.

Freezing is a tough science, because of the water content in the food. Water expands when the temperature drip to below 4 degree C.

Implication, Within the Food, the cell that has water in them(Most does) the water expands, and damage the cell walls. Thus when you eat the food, the food, is mushy, not firm.

I still can't tell what "the opposite of a microwave oven" would be.

Perhaps you mean a very quick freezer. I can't see how a quick freezer would reduce the need to buy frozen food which is frozen so that it can be kept fresh while being shipped to and stored at the grocery store.

A quick freezer is a trick because it is much easier to shove energy into something than to suck it out. There was a really long time between the invention of fire and the invention of refrigeration.

because of the extreme voltages generated it may desire to easily be an far greater than steam interior the incorrect place which will reason it to arc. Capacitors are infamous for breaking down in humid environments, so that's now common. there is likewise the magnatron - the section that creates the microwave shortwave radio frequency that chefs your nutrition. very many times the board the element sits on gets cooked by it is very own potential and charrs - making a extreme resistance course for the 800watts your pushing into it. upload somewhat steam to that, and the resistance drops sufficient to reason a flash-over which would be during the board shape. The resultig spark heats the steam pocket and it explodes - many times with a scent of burning resin/plastic. it is not budget friendly to swap the element - so time for a sparkling unit.

The wave spectrum consists of - longest to shortest:

Radio
Microwave
Infrared
Visible
Ultraviolet
Xray
Gamma Ray

I suppose the opposite, on the other end of the spectrum, of a microwave oven is an Xray oven. Not very useful as an oven.

For something opposite to a microwave oven you would have to draw microwaves out of an object? This doesn't seem practical.

Microwave ovens work by sending microwaves at the food and causing the water molecules to vibrate very fast and therefore heat the food. You can't just shoot waves at something to SLOW the molecules.

It is easy to quickly add energy. Harder to remove. There is no such thing as negative energy.
there is laser cooling, but it seems to only work at already low temperatures.

There is liquid Nitrogen. It boils at -200 centigrade. Fish is flash frozen to keep the flavor.

Entropy - all energy moves toward becoming useless low grade heat. We bombard food with microwaves, and that nice useful energy is turned into heat.

Think about it! Microwave heats food, and opposite of it would be cooling so it is fridge! :)
