I have an original black and white Madona photograph from the 1980's. It's worth $5.95 (the cover price of Penthouse)

How cool! Did you know that the Black Madonna is making a come back in the churches of Europe? They were formerly removed, I think by the Vatican (I'm not so sure), and are now put back and some Black Madonna icons are being hosted travelling from one location to another. It is also making a come back in Russia as well.

Amma is related to the Black Madonna. The other names used are "Black Mother", "Dark Mother", "Black Virgin". Did you know that the blackness depicted on the Holy Mother symbolizes the Void which is the womb of where all of our Souls were created and born? Amma is the incarnation of the Divine Mother, a living Black Madonna. She has embraced over 25 million people in the world. In the next 30 or more years, that number will triple.

So yea I agree getting it appraised by an antique appraiser dealer is wise. Go to a well reputed auction gallery as I would trust them than a small business antique dealer as they might undercut you or not really take the time to research. Auction galleries benefit from research as they want to help you sell it for maximum value.
