Three people answered this Question. No body really tried to answer this Question. It shows that the questioner is very intelligent and wants to know the answer to a problem many women have. I know a few women. they don't have this problem. The reason could be have to do with the release of the egg from the ovarries through the fallopian tubes. If the egg is not fertilized by the semen the menstruation begins. This could mean the release of amino acids that cause the cravings for certain foods like the answer contained in the answer of one of the women. In any way just because you have the craving does not mean you should begin to isatisfy your hunger. You should excercise extreme caution. Otherwise you will becoe very heavy or get diabetes.

You should eat more of raw vegetables like cauliflower or lettuce without dressing to satisfy your hunger so that your hunger is satisfied but you don't get too many calories.

I hope I've answered your Question.

We do burn more calories while we are ovulating. This phase is called the secretory phase and your endometrial glands enlarge, accelerate their secretion rate, and the arteries that "feed" the wall of your uterus elongate. Your hormones kick in to make all this happen which affects you as well. All this takes energy. Your body is responding to increased activity by making you hungry.

I have found that a diet with lots of natural enzymes in raw fruits and vegetables and natural fish oils from eating oily fish at least once a week really helps. If you give your body what it needs all the time, it doesn't seem to crave all the other stuff.

The hormonal changes that are triggered during the normal menstrual cycle affect people in different ways. Being hungry is a very common reaction to these changes. No, you are not alone. This is one of the most common changes reported by women.

Yes, i eat like a pig. i want as much chocolate that i can stand. I am sure it has something to do with preparing the body for a pregnancy and all the hormones that are rushing through your body. I get full of energy and can clean like a mad woman, but when it is all over, i am DONE with the eating and the cleaning.

Me and just about every other woman in my office just recently discovered we all get super hungry the week before our period.
I just read in a health magazine that your body burns about 300 extra calories prior to your menstrual cycle. So, that may make you hungrier. Also, your seratonin levels drop (if I remember correctly) which can lead to cravings of food that raise seratonin (i.e., chocolate).

Your hormones are jumping all around inside of you, and once your period starts, everything inside and outside of your body will feel better, which will take the anger away.

Doctors are prescribing prozac for pms, it can also help with anger also.
