Both in my opinion. I tend to be more dominant usually, but wish my wife would take over at times. It would add variety and increase her feeling of self worth. Everyone needs to be domineering at times. It's a good release and if it's a switch from normal, it is also usually a welcome thing.

Guess it just depends on the person. I like to be in control but then again its fun to be told what to do too!!
