Because men are only human and they are afraid of rejection too. So they go for the girl who looks and acts more open to their advances. Simple.
Solution: go to places where you can meet men and have normal conversations with them: ie, anywhere BUT a bar. Get some hobbies, take up sports. Statistics show that hardly anyone meets their life partners in bars and pubs anyway so you won't be missing much.

Yeah, some guys like outgoing girls cuz there is a better chance of geting some. I like shy girls because they are usually more in it for the long haul. In your face girls can be like that because potential relationships mean less to them which is cool for them and their partners but the quiet girls are usually more respectable and someone you'd take home to show your mom if you know what I mean.

The girls that are shy tend to be barflies and are watching others have all the fun.This is noticed by anyone that looks at you or in your direction. If you want to be involved in the fun, you need to put a smile on your face and you see how you'll be approach more often !!!

Where skimpier clothes and dance more on your own away from mates..
Better still and this is a serious suggestion...
Do things like take up pole dancing/belly dancing lessons... they are like years of therapy and get you out of the shell.

Take up break dance lessons... if you can compete with guys in things like dance offs, snowboarding, surfing etc they like ya.
They want Lara Croft crossed with Avril Lavenge crossed with Cyote Ugly dancers...
Actually rent out Cyote Ugly.
This will help the shyness as will self defence lessons and things like skydiving (which are also places to meet guys...
Also in water sports you may need assistance with wetsuits, martial arts there is the wrestling angle, if you are scared in skydiving a fit guy can cuddle you to make you feel better (even though you do it every week you can conveininently forget that.

Bars are a very bad place to meet men.
In NORMAL social settings, the more outgoing personality wins as well, but not because the man is just looking to hook up. I'll ask you - how do you get to know a person if they won't talk to you? It's hard, but you need to come out of your shell. :)

Some of the women who I have met that was shy turn out to be the dates I have had. For me a shy woman gives me a chance to get to know her on the inside. I also have met some shy women who turn out to be romantic and great lovers too.

Guys like anyone else don't want to be rejected... Why take a chance when one girl makes herself obvious to some one that she is interested... I myself passed up many a women just to avoid the chance of being rejected.
