Regular shampooing, conditioning and vigorous brushing are parts of keeping hair and scalp healthy, so it can help prevent hair from falling out. Lots of hair falls out with a washing especially after someone has neither washed nor combed dor a long time, esp due to the fact that fallen hair may be knotted and so the hair did not drop off the head yet even though it left the follicle. The average person loses about 100 hairs a day, so hair follicles do naturally need their rest periods! Brushing vigorously keeps the scalp stimulated and vascularized to keep the hair bulb and follicle healthy. Estrogen helps enhance hair lushness and richness (pregnant women notice their hair is often the most beautiful during pregnancy) High serum testosterone levels are more often associated with baldness. Obviously stress, menopause and chemotherapy will aggravate hair loss with or without the ideal shampoo for you. Plus, all shampoos are NOT created equal! There are cheap ones that make hair real clean and stripped (from harsh chemicles) so they are able to do that to the scalp too, drying or irritating the scalp out and aggravating dandruff, etc. Selecting shampoo that is ideal and effective for you (on subtle or non-subtle levels) is the key. In fact finding a few natural shampoos that work for you and then alternating them seems to be the best answer for all hair types. The type of water you have also affects the chemistry of shampoos and they way they affect the scalp and hair. Diet and health affect hair too, so it is often difficult to telll what "bad hair days" are actually caused by! But clean healthy shiney hair always feels and looks wonderful.

Yes .
Hair grows from the skin of head. The skin has got certain biochemical activity such as secretion of enzymes, sweats oils and salts that forms a sticky substance and becomes a homeland for bacterial activity that leads to germination of dandruf and small insects. One may feel itching, hair binding etc. lump of hair may fall if not taken care in time. Shampoo keeps the head free of all these biofouls and allows free air to contact the skin of head which keeps hair free from each other. The hair will be healthy and will not fall.

Nope...I know from experience. After years of washing at least once a day it started falling out. I now shave my head. They do have hair-thickening shampoo available at salons if you wanted to invest in that. Catch it before it goes too far!

Regular hair washing will keep your scalp clean and is good for hygiene. It will not keep your hair from falling out. Hair loss is natural and often hereditary.

Nope. all it does is strip the natural oils out/off of your hair. (which is why comapnies always produce conditioner...to put oils back into the hair to keep it strong.)
