In your Ivory Tower?

It can be lonely being an atheist, but it's not because of an elitist attitude, if that's what you mean. It's because there just aren't that many of us (maybe ten percent of the population, maybe a little more, nobody seems to know for certain).

I have no ivory tower. But down here on earth it is very lonely at times. I am not really a non believer but I dont depend on a God or worship one. I am simply unsure and dont care anymore on the subject of God.

You do realize that athiests are the most widely despised minority on the face of the planet, don't you? You do realize that we are discriminated against worse than any other social class?
Perhaps not. But if you'll think real hard for a second, you may realize that we're not the ones looking down our noses. We're not the ones that are going to heaven, remember?

It would be if not for the internet. In the real world, I only know 1 other atheist, and a couple of agnostics.
Your question seems to imply that you think it's valid to base your beliefs on what makes you feel comfortable. You're welcome to do that, but I prefer to seek knowledge of reality as it actually is, rather than as I wish it were.
